...
The long list of achievements that followed made the opening words "all-round" carry undeniable weight.
In the photo, Teng Yi wore a black shirt and a black leather jacket, exuding an overwhelming presence. His gaze was fixed directly on the camera, his eyes sharp and domineering, with none of the usual gentleness in sight.
Ruan Yu stared at Teng Yi in the photo, and Teng Yi in the photo stared back at her. After a moment of this mutual "staring contest," she was the first to falter, unable to hold his gaze any longer.
Following Teng Yi's photo were pictures of the other members of the Xiyou Street Dance Crew. Ruan Yu looked through them one by one, matching their faces to the boys in red from the school anniversary event.
Each of them was exceptional—at the very least, they had already made their mark in their respective fields.
Xiao Qing, like Teng Yi, was a versatile dancer, particularly skilled in Urban Dance, blending various dance techniques to create new choreography. Zhou Xihe, the "Locking Prince," was the runner-up in Locking at the LD Street Dance Competition. Lin Shan excelled in Popping, while Cai Hong specialized in Breaking but also dabbled in House and Reggae.
This was what other people's twenties looked like—glorious, skill-packed twenties.
Ruan Yu walked further in, following the lit path. The corridor was lined with practice studios, suggesting this place would soon become a dance training base.
Just as she passed through the hallway, she heard music blaring from upstairs—intense, heavy metal mixed with rock, shaking the floor beneath her feet.
Covering her ears, Ruan Yu followed the sound upstairs.
At the entrance of the second-floor practice room, about a dozen people sat in a circle on the floor. In the middle, a boy in a school uniform danced energetically to the music. His movements were fast and precise, occasionally flipping or executing complex spins, proving he wasn’t just putting on a flashy show.
It was Teng Hao!
Ruan Yu recognized his school uniform first, then his face.
She had always thought of Teng Hao as a childish little boy, but seeing him now—so focused and serious—she suddenly found him unfamiliar and, admittedly, a little handsome.
The onlookers erupted with occasional "whoas" and whistles. Teng Yi stood to the side, arms crossed, his eyes tracking his brother’s spins and jumps, his expression stern.
Suddenly, he walked over and turned off the music.
The lingering notes scraped against the glass on the walls before being carried away by the wind through the window. The noise in her ears vanished completely, and everyone fell silent. Teng Hao stopped mid-move, sitting on the floor panting as he looked up at Teng Yi.
"Your foundation is weak. Focus on basics first," Teng Yi said.
Ruan Yu blinked, finding the words oddly familiar.
Sure enough, Teng Hao jumped up from the floor. "Bro, why are you saying the same thing as the top-scorer girl?"
"That just means your fundamentals are lacking in every aspect."
Teng Hao puffed up his cheeks, about to retort, when Zhou Xihe spotted Ruan Yu standing at the door.
"Well, well, where did this pretty little girl come from?"Everyone's attention turned to Ruan Yu, and Teng Yi also looked her way.
Their gazes met quietly across the clamoring crowd.
