Chapter 79 : Interrogation

Chapter 79: Interrogation

The giant man strode steadily out of the woods, gripping an unconscious Blue-robed Law Enforcement officer in one hand as if holding a small chick. His body was splattered with blood, the crimson spots stark against his green robe, making them stand out like dazzling peach blossoms.

Li Feiyu sucked in a cold breath.

The giant took a few steps forward and tossed the Blue-robed man onto the ground. A pungent smell of blood immediately assaulted Li Feiyu’s senses.

His expression changed drastically, and he instinctively took half a step back, adopting a defensive stance.

The giant ignored Li Feiyu’s reaction. Instead, he strode back to stand behind Han Li once more, motionless and silent as if he had never moved in the first place.

Only then did Li Feiyu exhale deeply and relax his posture. He glanced at the unconscious Blue-robed man on the ground, then at Han Li, who had remained perfectly composed the entire time. Suddenly, he chuckled.

“No wonder you were so calm! You had such a formidable expert hidden by your side all along! Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I was on edge for nothing.” Though his tone was light, Li Feiyu couldn’t help but speculate inwardly about the relationship between Han Li and this green-robed giant.

Han Li saw through his thoughts but had no intention of explaining. With a faint, enigmatic smile, he leisurely said,

“This Blue-robed Law Enforcement officer must know quite a bit. Which of us should interrogate him? I think you, as the esteemed Hall Master Li, would be far more skilled at this than I am. Since the capable should bear more responsibility, I’ll leave this to you.”

Seeing that Han Li was deliberately changing the subject and had no plans to introduce the giant, Li Feiyu felt somewhat dissatisfied.

However, he was also quite interested in interrogating the officer. Taking Han Li’s words as an opportunity, he readily agreed.

Li Feiyu lifted the unconscious Blue-robed man and swiftly disappeared into the woods to begin his interrogation, while Han Li plopped down onto the grass, leisurely stretching out.

Before long, Li Feiyu emerged from the forest alone, his face dark.

“That was quick. Did you get any useful information?” Han Li didn’t bother standing up. Instead, he raised an eyebrow and asked directly.

“Hmph! The guy was a coward. I barely had to lift a finger before he spilled everything. There are two pieces of news—one good, one bad. Which do you want to hear first?” Li Feiyu said gloomily.

“Let’s start with the good one. Might as well lift my spirits first,” Han Li replied, clearly indifferent.

“The good news is, you guessed right about the Wild Wolf Gang’s plan. They’ve only blockaded the other peaks without attacking, while concentrating their main forces at the foot of Sunset Peak. They’re assaulting it relentlessly, and I’ve heard they’ve already broken through several checkpoints.” Li Feiyu relayed this information flatly, showing no concern for the higher-ups’ safety.

“If that’s the good news, then the bad one must be absolutely terrible,” Han Li muttered, rubbing his nose.

“Your crow’s mouth is annoyingly accurate. The bad news is, apart from the Wild Wolf Gang, the attackers this time also include the Iron Spear Society, the Water Severing Sect, and several other small and medium-sized gangs. Seems our sect is truly facing calamity.”

Han Li froze upon hearing this—even he hadn’t anticipated such a development."Never mind how many attackers there are. What's urgent now is to reunite with your little sweetheart and subordinates. Take advantage of the chaos outside and leave quickly!" Han Li didn't remain shocked for long, immediately making his judgment.

Li Feiyu nodded in agreement—this suggestion perfectly aligned with his thoughts.

"What did you do with that guy?" Han Li suddenly asked.

"Silenced him. Could we have dragged him along?" Li Feiyu replied nonchalantly.

Hearing this, Han Li smiled faintly, pushing off the ground with one hand as he gracefully rose from the grass.

"Let's go. Try to avoid enemies as much as possible. If we can't evade them, kill everyone who spots us—show no mercy. Otherwise, their numbers will only grow." Han Li's words were spoken lightly, but their meaning was steeped in killing intent, thick with the scent of blood.

Several miles away from the Valley of Divine Hands—in Elder Li's courtyard—a dense crowd had gathered. Among them were men and women, young and old, seemingly without any martial skills, all murmuring anxiously with worried expressions.

Nearby, over twenty black-clad youths armed with sabers and swords stood guard, their presence starkly conspicuous compared to the unarmed people in the courtyard.

Inside the main hall of the residence, two men were engaged in a heated argument.

"I oppose sending people outside. Our defenses here are already weak. Dispatching more would only make us more vulnerable. No, absolutely not!" A pot-bellied middle-aged man spat out his words while shaking his head vigorously, adamantly opposing the idea.

"But we have no idea what's happening outside. If we don't send scouts, we'll be completely in the dark. That's too passive," argued Ma Rong, Elder Li's beloved disciple, in response.

"Passive or not, what happens outside has nothing to do with me. The safety of this place is my top priority. Unless you dare to disobey orders?" The man narrowed his small eyes, suddenly pulling out a golden waist token from his robes and waving it in front of Ma Rong, his face brimming with arrogance.

Ma Rong glanced at the man, then at the token, and sighed. Clasping his hands in a bow, he said, "I wouldn't dare. I shall strictly follow your command."
