Chapter 36 : Surprise

Chapter 36: Surprise

Seeing Han Li lose his temper, Li Feiyu remained unperturbed, still wearing an indifferent expression.

He tilted his head, stuck his little finger into his ear, and began to clean it with great concentration, as if he were ready to face any challenge head-on.

After Han Li had vented his anger, he noticed that Li Feiyu’s face was as thick as a city wall, seemingly unaffected by anything he had said. This calmed Han Li down, and he began to sense that there was something unusual about the situation.

"You’re neither a fool nor an arrogant person. There must be a reason for you to do something so reckless," Han Li asked after regaining his composure.

Seeing that Han Li’s anger had dissipated so quickly, Li Feiyu felt a slight regret but put on a pitiful expression, crying out in grievance:

"Heavens! I’ve been wronged!"

"I wanted to explain earlier, but you didn’t give me a chance to speak!"

"Now you’re blaming me again. I’m really caught in the middle!"

His exaggerated and theatrical display of grievance was so fake that it was obvious to anyone, giving off a vibe that made people want to punch him.

Han Li couldn’t help but feel the urge to step forward and kick him into a dog-eating-dirt pose.

"Stop acting up and explain yourself."

"Aren’t you afraid of your Junior Brothers seeing you like this? If they saw your lazy demeanor, the cool and suave image of a ruthless killer you’ve built up would be completely shattered," Han Li sneered, not giving him a friendly look.

He really wasn’t in the mood to banter with Li Feiyu. If this matter wasn’t handled properly, both of them would be in big trouble.

Li Feiyu seemed to understand what Han Li was thinking and didn’t bother to refute his sarcasm. Instead, he lazily walked over to the bundle, bent down, picked up a Secret Manual at random, and stood up.

Once he straightened up, he handed the book to Han Li with a mysterious glint in his eyes, gesturing for him to lift the cover and take a look.

Han Li took the thin Secret Manual, glancing at Li Feiyu with confusion.

He couldn’t figure out what Li Feiyu was up to.

"Open it, and you’ll understand everything," Li Feiyu coaxed in a tone that suggested he was looking forward to seeing Han Li’s reaction.

"Why not just tell me? Why make it so mysterious?"

Although Han Li was visibly reluctant, he still flipped open the cover.

As soon as he opened it, the first page of the Secret Manual was revealed, with the words "Blinking Sword Manual" clearly written in black and white.

"Hmm!" Han Li was slightly surprised.

The first book Li Feiyu had casually handed him was exactly what he had been looking for, which caught him off guard.

"Don’t be too surprised yet. Take a look at these books," Li Feiyu said, tossing over several more Secret Manuals in quick succession.

Han Li caught them one by one, quickly flipping through them. After a moment, he was completely stunned.

Each of these books had the words "Blinking Sword Manual" clearly written on the first page.

After a long while, Han Li finally tore his gaze away from the books in his hands.

He looked up and pointed at the large pile of Secret Manuals on the ground, asking haltingly:"You... you can't be telling me that all of these are the 'Blinking Sword Manual'!"

"Unfortunately, Junior Brother Han, you've guessed correctly," the other person shrugged, spreading his hands in a seemingly helpless gesture.

However, the slight upward curve of his lips and the gloating tone in his voice completely contradicted the meaning of his words.

"This can't be! There are nearly a hundred books here. How could they all be the Blinking Sword Manual?" Han Li, completely disregarding the other's little act, questioned in disbelief.

"You ask me, but who should I ask?"

"When I suddenly saw so many secret manuals with the same name in the corner of the library, I was quite shocked myself!" Li Feiyu rolled his eyes and muttered, showing a look of lingering fear.

Then, seeing Han Li's dumbfounded expression, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.

For Li Feiyu, Han Li's shocked and surprised expression was a rare spectacle.

Usually, Han Li always appeared calm and composed in front of him, as if the word "surprise" would never appear on him.

But now, Han Li's dazed and foolish look made Li Feiyu feel that all the hard work these days had not been in vain and was completely worth it.

After a while, Han Li finally came to his senses.

He tightly grasped the books in his hand, lowered his head to think for a moment, then raised his head with a thoughtful expression and spoke unhurriedly:

"Have you checked these books?"

"How many are there in total?"

"Of course I've counted them, and not just once. There are seventy-four secret manuals with the same name," Li Feiyu immediately replied, reporting the exact number without hesitation.

"If I didn't clarify the exact number of these books, what if one or two were missing when returning them? That would really cause a big problem," he then added a slight explanation.

Gently pinching the slightly yellowed pages, Han Li slowly flipped through them, carefully browsing the secret manual he held in his hand.
