Duan Aoxiang grabbed a bottle of strong liquor from the bar counter, grinning sinisterly. "Ji Feng can handle a little wine, but even a small glass of this high-proof liquor will knock him out instantly. What do you think would happen if we got both that woman and Ji Feng drunk?"
A Ni's eyes lit up.
"Damn it!" Duan Aoxiang cursed, his voice filled with both resentment and the excitement of impending revenge. "I wanted to mess with Ji Feng once, but instead he teamed up with that woman to humiliate me. Isn't Ji Feng the one who claims to be so pure and abstains from women? Isn't he still that noble, untouched virgin with his perfect ideals about only touching his true love? Well, tonight I'll break his precious virginity and ruin his perfection! I want to see if he'll be disgusted to death! And that woman deserves it too—she loves meddling in other people's business, so let her learn the consequences of butting in!"
A Ni perked up at the words. "That's a brilliant idea!" He slammed his large hand on the bar counter, his voice rough and booming. "Those two have been making you irritable and angry these past few days, and it's been pissing me off too. If you hadn't told me not to act like a thug all the time, I would've taught them a lesson long ago!"
After pausing to calm down slightly, he cautiously asked, "But what if they figure it out the next day and come after us?"
"What do you mean 'come after us'? Are you stupid?" Duan Aoxiang reached out and smacked A Ni's head, annoyed. "We're just putting two drunk people to bed so they can rest. Whatever happens after that is their own business. We're all adults, right? Adults have to take responsibility for their own actions!"
After saying this, Duan Aoxiang raised his glass and took another sip of alcohol. As the liquor went down his throat, he hissed, swirling the glass while watching Xu Miyu in the distance. He saw that she had finished delivering all the drinks on her tray and was now carrying a tray full of empty glasses back toward the bar.
As she approached and noticed him and A Ni standing at the bar, she hesitated.
Duan Aoxiang leaned against the inside of the bar, lazily calling out to Xu Miyu on the other side. "Do I eat people? Come here!"
Worried that defying him might provoke Duan Aoxiang, Xu Miyu tried to stay calm as she walked up to the bar.
Duan Aoxiang pressed a button on the bar counter. The server who had stepped away earlier immediately returned, took Xu Miyu's tray of empty glasses, and handed her a new tray full of drinks before discreetly retreating again.
Xu Miyu reached her arm over from outside the bar to take the tray. Suddenly, Duan Aoxiang grabbed her wrist and yanked it sharply inward, causing her upper body to lurch forward.
Trapped across the bar with her wrist locked in Duan Aoxiang's grip, Xu Miyu couldn't move.
She stared at him in shock, pain clearly radiating from her wrist. She bit back a cry, only furrowing her brows in discomfort. Her eyes held a trace of suppressed panic.
Duan Aoxiang himself didn't know why he had suddenly grabbed Xu Miyu. Her wrist felt thin and fragile in his grasp, as if a little more pressure could snap it.
It seemed that just seeing her made him furious, and he wanted to mess with her. But how exactly, he hadn't thought through at all.
He watched her frowning at him, clearly in pain but not crying out, just enduring silently.
Suddenly, he felt a surge of destructive desire stirred by her.He increased the pressure of his grip slightly, then raised his glass with his other hand, took a sip, and blew a puff of alcohol-laced breath toward Xu Miyu.
"Hurts?" he asked with a roguish grin.
Xu Miyu endured the intensified pain in her wrist without speaking. She didn't know whether to say it hurt or not—it seemed whatever she said might not satisfy Duan Aoxiang. She just bit her lip in silent endurance.
Squinting his eyes, Duan Aoxiang yanked Xu Miyu's wrist toward himself with renewed force, pulling her up on her toes across the bar counter and dragging her uncomfortably close.
"Want me to let go? That's easy enough. Come on, give me a smile. If I like what I see, I'll release you."
Even as he spoke of letting go, his grip tightened further.
The pain became so intense that Xu Miyu nearly saw black spots dancing before her eyes. She desperately wished someone—anyone—would come over and distract Duan Aoxiang's attention. Unfortunately, no such savior appeared.
Duan Aoxiang's voice, laced with menace, sounded in her ear again: "Can't manage a smile? If you can't smile, I might just snap it!"
Somehow, he found yet more strength to tighten his hold.
Xu Miyu was on the verge of breaking into cold sweat from the pain. She had never truly learned how to fight back, never possessed the confidence to loudly refuse. Her upbringing had taught her only compromise and ingratiation.
She looked at Duan Aoxiang and forced a strained smile.
Pushing through the pain, she contorted her face into what she hoped passed for a smile. While smiling, she cursed him viciously in her heart—a pathetic man who only knew how to bully women.
The next moment, however, that very smile made Duan Aoxiang freeze momentarily and release his grip.
Seizing the opportunity, Xu Miyu immediately grabbed her serving tray and fled, not daring to stay a second longer.
Duan Aoxiang remained slightly dazed, holding his glass in one hand while the fingertips of his other still seemed to retain traces of warmth that didn't belong to him.
A Ni called out to him from nearby: "Boss Duan? What's wrong?"
Snapping out of his trance, Duan Aoxiang raised his glass and took a drink.
That sudden smile Xu Miyu had flashed—how should he describe it?
Actually, from the first time he'd forced a smile out of her, he'd noticed how her entire appearance transformed when she smiled.
Some women looked decent normally but turned ugly when they smiled.
She was the complete opposite. Usually she appeared plain and aged, but when she smiled she unexpectedly became refreshingly sweet and quite beautiful.
Today she wasn't just not plain or aged—she was actually quite attractive. With that pretty face as foundation, when she smiled again...
Damn.
He couldn't deny it even if he wanted to—that level of refreshing sweetness and beauty had skyrocketed to several times what it was before.
And beneath that brilliantly clear smile, she was clearly enduring pain. Somehow, that contrast made her smile particularly striking and evoked an inexplicable sense of reluctance in him.
He had unconsciously released his grip.
"That actress with the really beautiful smile, the famous one—what's her name again?" he suddenly asked A Ni an unrelated question.
"Huh?"
"What do you mean 'huh'? If you don't know, look it up."
A Ni had no idea what his boss was getting at, but he quickly pulled out his phone to search. After extensive searching, he still couldn't figure out who Duan Aoxiang meant.
"Boss, how about we temporarily call her... Super Beauty?"
Duan Aoxiang thought, damn, I know exactly who I mean but just can't recall the name. Fine, Super Beauty it is.
This Xu Miyu and that Super Beauty actress were the same type—both were women who could bewitch people with their smiles."Boss?" A Ni called to him again from the side. "About getting Ji Feng and that woman drunk, should I find an opportunity to act soon?"
Duan Aoxiang downed the last of the whiskey in his glass, then poured the ice cubes into his mouth and chewed on them.
He realized he had been bewitched by that smile.
After chewing through one ice cube, he said to A Ni, "Forget it. I was just venting."
The rest of the evening turned out to be somewhat unexpected for Xu Miyu—Duan Aoxiang actually didn’t go out of his way to make things difficult for her again. His attention seemed to have been captured by a pretty girl.
She thought, thank heavens.
At one point, Duan Aoxiang, holding a drink himself, had A Ni prepare a large glass of red wine, and together they went over to Ji Feng.
Duan Aoxiang had A Ni hand the red wine to Ji Feng, while he himself held a very full glass and said to Ji Feng, "Old Ji, come on, let’s finish this drink. Whatever has been said or left unsaid between us, let’s wipe the slate clean starting with this glass. What do you say, Old Ji? Come on, Old Ji, even though this glass of red wine is a bit full, as long as you finish it, we’ll let bygones be bygones, okay? After this drink, I won’t keep you any longer—you can head straight back to your room and rest!"
Ji Feng took the very full glass of red wine, clinked glasses with Duan Aoxiang, and threw his head back to down the wine in one go. After finishing it, he frowned and asked Duan Aoxiang, "What kind of wine is this?"
Duan Aoxiang replied, "Red wine. Why?"
Ji Feng glared at him fiercely but said nothing, feeling a sudden, intense dizziness. After steadying himself for a moment, he called over Xue Rui, who was drinking with a group of people, to help him back to the adjacent suite.
Xue Rui had just been plied with drink after drink by A Ni and several others and was already on the verge of passing out.
In the end, it was hard to tell whether Ji Feng was supporting Xue Rui or Xue Rui was holding up Ji Feng—both of them staggered unsteadily back to the adjacent suite.
A Ni said to Duan Aoxiang, "I’ll go check on them." He immediately followed them to the neighboring suite.
A short while later, he returned and reported to Duan Aoxiang, "President Ji really can’t hold his liquor—just one glass of red wine and he’s already drunk and passed out. Xue Rui had too much to drink too—he didn’t even make it to the bedroom and just collapsed on the living room sofa, dead asleep."
Duan Aoxiang shot him a glance and asked, "Was that glass you gave Ji Feng really just red wine?"
A Ni scratched his head and grinned. "Of course."
Duan Aoxiang gave him another sidelong glance but said nothing, turning instead to drink with Prayut and the others.
Watching Ji Feng and Xue Rui leave, Xu Miyu felt uneasy, her heart pounding as if she had lost some kind of support.
But they had never been her reliance in the first place.
Fortunately, Duan Aoxiang’s attention today was entirely on that pretty girl.
As she moved back and forth serving drinks to the guests, she inevitably passed by Duan Aoxiang and would hear him constantly saying to the pretty girl:
Smile.
Smile again.
No, not like that—don’t stretch your mouth that way. Show your teeth, crinkle your eyes, lift the corners of your mouth. Smile.
No, try again.
You little fool, if you can’t smile properly, you’ll keep smiling for me until you do.
…
Xu Miyu almost got goosebumps. She had no idea why Duan Aoxiang had such a strange quirk of making women smile whenever he saw them.
When her tray was once again filled with empty glasses, she took it to the bar to exchange them.
Duan Aoxiang’s assistant, A Ni, was there. He had a rugged appearance, more like a bodyguard than an assistant. Xu Miyu recalled Ke Wenxue’s gossip earlier—A Ni seemed to have received favors from Duan Aoxiang and was extremely loyal to him, acting like an obedient dog.
Xu Miyu thought that since his master hated her to the bone, A Ni’s impression of her probably wasn’t any better.
Sure enough, when he saw her, he said expressionlessly, "Wait here. Boss Duan has something to say to you."
Xu Miyu stood there waiting, feeling somewhat anxious as she wondered what Duan Aoxiang wanted to tell her.
Soon, Duan Aoxiang staggered over unsteadily.
He was holding a bottle of imported liquor. He walked up, slammed the bottle onto the bar in front of her, and said with a roguish tone, "Let’s be straightforward. You ruined my plans earlier, so I need to vent my anger, right? Here’s the deal: if you drink this now, we’ll call it even. But if you don’t, I’ll make sure to cause you trouble slowly and thoroughly."
This was the punishment Duan Aoxiang had come up with after watching her ambiguous smiles all evening.
Xu Miyu looked at the bottle of imported liquor.
Although she had never tried this type of liquor before, she believed her alcohol tolerance was decent. To cut off all trouble tonight, she hesitated for a moment before picking up the bottle, pulling out the cork, tilting her head back, and gulping it down in large swallows.
She drank too quickly and started choking after just a few mouthfuls. She hadn’t expected the liquor to be so strong.
Duan Aoxiang watched coldly from the side and said, "Keep drinking. Don’t stop!"
After catching her breath, Xu Miyu raised the bottle and continued drinking. Her throat felt as if it were being scorched by the alcohol, and tears welled up in her eyes, streaming down her temples.
Half of the liquor remained in the bottle.
Suddenly, Duan Aoxiang reached out, grabbed the bottle, and pulled it down. "Enough, stop drinking," he said.
Irritated, he instructed A Ni, "This liquor is too strong for her. Take her to the restroom to vomit, then book a room downstairs and send her there. Make sure to tell her not to show up in front of me again and annoy me!"
With that, he left.
A Ni helped Xu Miyu to the restroom, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t vomit. The alcohol remained trapped in her body, wreaking havoc. Soon, she grew dizzy and lightheaded—her vision blurred, and gradually, even her consciousness began to fade.
The world spun around her, and a burning heat swelled in her chest, growing more intense.
She wanted to call for help, to ask for a glass of water, but she realized she was too dizzy to even open her mouth or make a sound.
In her daze, she couldn’t keep her eyes open. It seemed A Ni was helping her stand.
With her last shred of awareness, she thought A Ni must be following Duan Aoxiang’s orders to take her to a guest room downstairs.
When Xu Miyu regained a sliver of consciousness, she found herself lying on a large bed in the dark.
The bed was soft and fragrant, incredibly comfortable, and she couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh.
Her eyes refused to open, but her breathing grew increasingly rapid. The alcohol churned in her chest like a raging fire. With her eyes closed, she fumbled to undo the buttons on her chest, trying to free herself and release the suffocating heat.
Overwhelmed by discomfort, she rolled to the side and unexpectedly bumped into another body.
In her dizziness and confusion, she struggled to regain a fragment of awareness.
Why was there someone else in this bed besides her?
But her consciousness was soon overwhelmed again by the alcohol, washing away all reason and leaving only raw, instinctual sensation.Because the presence beside her was clean and crisp. It reminded her so much of Nie Yucheng from the past...
In the darkness and dizziness, her perception became disordered. She felt as if she had returned to her wedding night—similarly drunk, similarly dizzy, similarly feverish and uncomfortable.
Nie Yucheng had been just as uncomfortable.
In the darkness, he had pulled her over, and she had collided against his chest.
He had asked hoarsely, "Who are you?"
He had insisted that she say aloud that she was his wife, insisted that she take the initiative to kiss him.
She had no choice but to close her eyes and shyly kiss him.
And then they had become true husband and wife...
Suddenly, she was pulled over by the person beside her, and she collided against his chest.
He seemed to share her discomfort. He asked hoarsely, "Who are you?"
In that moment, her senses and perception of time and space became utterly confused. She thought she had returned to her wedding night.
In her dizziness, she embraced this body with nostalgia. Closing her eyes, she shyly kissed him.
At first, he resisted her, but gradually, he could no longer hold back and began to respond. Both of them were burning with heat, yet his kisses were incredibly inexperienced.
Suddenly, she felt he wasn’t Nie Yucheng. Nie Yucheng hadn’t been so inexperienced. Besides, Nie Yucheng was already tainted. She pushed him away.
But dizziness immediately washed over her reason again, stripping her of all judgment, making her once more mistakenly believe she had returned to her wedding night. She drew close to him again...
She repeated this cycle—drawing near, pushing him away, drawing near again, pushing him away again... Unaware of what she was doing, she repeatedly feigned resistance while yielding in her dazed state.
Yet her actions completely unraveled the drunken man beside her, who had been struggling to restrain himself and fight against the dizziness and feverishness.
Suddenly, he gave up his inner struggle, letting his senses, gone wild tonight, overpower his reason, driving his body to act recklessly.
When she drew near once more, amid the dizziness and feverishness, he completely surrendered to this woman who so skillfully feigned resistance while yielding, and to the alcohol that had dissolved his reason and ability to think. Guided by instinct, he turned over and pinned her down.
When she woke, Xu Miyu found herself lying in Ji Feng’s bed.
Xu Miyu was utterly bewildered for a long moment before she understood what had happened in that bed the previous night.
Confused and shocked, she couldn’t immediately process how it had happened, how she had ended up here instead of in the guest room downstairs.
Gradually, she tried to gather her still-unclear consciousness and fragmented memories. Then, lying on the pillow, she turned her head slightly to look toward the window.
Ji Feng was already up, standing by the window in his robe.
Backlit, she couldn’t see his face clearly, only that his hair still glistened with droplets of water in the sunlight.
He had already showered.
Seeing that she was awake, he spoke coldly from where he stood against the light.
“Last night, someone set me up. I was drunk. I assume you were too.”
Xu Miyu sat up in bed, clutching the covers.
She was beginning to adjust to the harsh sunlight by the window.
She could make out a bit of the expression on his face.
So grim, so full of self-loathing. He seemed to despise his own tainted self.
And his taint was because they had slept together after drinking last night...
Suddenly, she felt ashamed, sinful. His self-loathing expression even made her feel as if she had defiled him last night...Yet in the end, it seemed he had become the proactive one...
She tightly wrapped herself in the blanket, feeling utterly lost.
"Speak. How do you want to resolve this matter?"
After a long silence, he finally spoke again. He coldly tossed the question at her, waiting for her response.
Xu Miyu, bundled in the blanket, felt her mind sluggish. His question couldn't penetrate her thoughts, and she couldn't come up with an answer.
Ji Feng grew impatient and simply made the decision for her.
"You may leave first. Regarding last night, I will give you compensation that will satisfy you."
Xu Miyu didn't understand what Ji Feng meant, but she directly told him, "It's not necessary! Last night was just an accident. I don't need any compensation."
After saying this, she endured the lingering dizziness, quickly got up, dressed, and tidied herself.
Checking her watch, it wasn't yet time for work. She quietly slipped back to the executive level and hurried to the changing room to wash up, cleansing away the scent of last night's loss of control and recklessness.
After speaking with Xu Miyu, Ji Feng walked back into the bathroom.
Since waking up this morning and realizing he had slept with that woman, he didn't know how many times he had already showered.
He deeply despised himself, despising that he had lost control with that woman. In the past, there were women who tried to take advantage of his drunkenness to get a night with him, but he had always managed to restrain himself. Yet last night, he had fallen for her repeated acts of feigned resistance and compliance.
She usually seemed so timid and pathetic—who would have thought she would be so skilled in bed?
Was it something she practiced to keep her cheating ex-husband?
A surge of unquenchable anger and even humiliation suddenly churned in his heart.
He felt dirty.
He had been dirtied by a married woman—one whose husband had cheated on her, yet she refused to divorce him—a woman with no backbone.
He closed his eyes, letting the cold water wash over him from head to toe.
But the feeling of humiliation from being dirtied couldn't be washed away. At the peak of this humiliation, he even felt what it meant to wish for death.
Because he hadn't yet found a partner who met his standards, he had never even kissed a woman's lips.
But last night, under someone's scheme, he had given his entire self away.
He punched the wall. His knuckles split open, blood flowing out, quickly washed away by the water.
The pain stimulated him, making him calm down.
He turned off the shower, dried himself, and changed clothes.
Walking out of the room and into the living room, he saw Xue Rui still sound asleep on the sofa.
Some people truly acted ruthlessly. Afraid that Xue Rui would ruin things, they had even gotten him drunk. Not only did they get them drunk, but they also pretended to be kind and sent them back to their rooms, all to ensure the door to his suite was left unlocked.
Ji Feng didn't wake Xue Rui. He went straight out and walked to the next room.
He pressed the doorbell repeatedly, without any pause.
A Ni came to open the door.
He coldly asked, "Where is Duan Aoxiang?"
A Ni replied, "Aoxiang had too much to drink yesterday and is still sleeping in his room."
Ji Feng pushed him aside.
Just then, Duan Aoxiang walked out wearing a half-open bathrobe, his face still bearing the signs of a hangover and sleepiness. He asked irritably, "What's going on, Lao Ji? Ringing the bell like crazy so early in the morning, trying to kill me with noise..."
Before he could finish the word "noise," Ji Feng had already rushed over and punched him in the face.
A heavy punch.
It made Duan Aoxiang's nose bleed.A Ni immediately stepped forward, shielding Duan Aoxiang.
Duan Aoxiang shoved him aside, wiped the blood from his nose, and stared at the crimson stain on his palm. He looked up and shouted at Ji Feng, "What's wrong with you? Going crazy first thing in the morning?"
Ji Feng rushed over, grabbed the loose collar of his bathrobe, and asked coldly, "Do you even know that woman has a husband?"
Duan Aoxiang froze in place.
He turned his head and shot A Ni a glare. A Ni lowered his head, avoiding eye contact.
Duan Aoxiang looked back at Ji Feng. Seeing the unprecedented madness and fury on Ji Feng’s face, he suddenly burst into hysterical laughter.
Shoving Ji Feng aside, he laughed until he was gasping for breath and said, “You slept with someone? You think you’re dirty now, don’t you?” He pointed at Ji Feng, laughing maniacally. “Hahaha, this is perfect, just perfect! Look at you, acting all abstinent day in and day out—I thought you had some incredible self-control, but it turns out you’re no better than anyone else. You’re just a hypocrite, aren’t you? Old Ji, let me give you a friendly reminder: last night, you were just drunk, just a little hot and dizzy. It’s not like you took Viagra and couldn’t help yourself! So, you couldn’t resist sleeping with someone—isn’t that just your own lack of self-restraint?”
Ji Feng couldn’t stand his foul words and swung another punch. Duan Aoxiang staggered backward and collapsed onto the sofa. A Ni rushed over to block him, but Ji Feng kicked him hard in the stomach, bending him over in pain.
Ji Feng raised his hand and pointed at Duan Aoxiang, who was slumped on the sofa, blood smeared across his face but still laughing uncontrollably. His voice was icy as he asked, “Aren’t you afraid she and her husband will sue both of us?”
Duan Aoxiang grabbed a corner of his bathrobe to wipe the blood from his nose. The blood wasn’t fully cleaned, smearing across his face and making him look especially ferocious.
With that ferocious grin, he told Ji Feng, “What does that have to do with me? If you’ve got the guts, go find evidence that I forced your head down to make the two of you sleep together. But did I force you? No! It’s clearly your own lack of self-control, isn’t it?”
Ji Feng was too tired to hit this pile of trash anymore. He was afraid of dirtying his hands.
Pointing at Duan Aoxiang, he warned in a voice so sinister it sent chills down the spine, “Duan Aoxiang, watch your back. I’m someone who always repays his debts, and this matter isn’t over. I’ll make sure the instigator gets what they deserve!”
With that, he turned and strode out of the suite.
Duan Aoxiang leaned back on the sofa, tilting his head up and laughing loudly.
“Ji Feng, why so serious? It’s just losing your virginity! Hahahaha!”
Ji Feng didn’t pause, walking straight out of the suite.
The moment his figure disappeared, Duan Aoxiang’s laughter cut off abruptly. He stood up from the sofa.
“A Ni,” he called out, “come here.”
The pain from Ji Feng’s kick hadn’t yet faded. A Ni forced himself to stand straight and walked over to Duan Aoxiang.
As soon as he stopped, Duan Aoxiang slapped him hard across the face. The blow knocked his head to the side and bent his body.
But he straightened up again immediately.
“You know why I hit you. Yesterday, I really intended to reconcile with Ji Feng, but you secretly mixed strong liquor into his red wine to knock him out with one glass, didn’t you? And I told you to book a room downstairs for that woman to rest, but you tricked her into going to Ji Feng’s room, didn’t you? Fine, you’re something else, daring to act on your own. Now, thanks to you, Ji Feng and I can never reconcile! A Ni, let me tell you, if it weren’t for your years of loyalty to me, I’d kill you right now!”
After saying this, Duan Aoxiang grabbed his casually discarded leather bag from the sofa, pulled out a thick stack of cash, and threw it directly at A Ni. The money scattered, flying everywhere and covering the floor.
“I don’t want to keep someone around who’s willing to act on their own. Get out.”When Ji Feng returned to his suite, Xue Rui was already awake.
Seeing the broken skin on Ji Feng's hand and his livid expression, Xue Rui became both confused and nervous.
He quickly fetched the first aid kit and asked while applying medicine to Ji Feng's wound: "Boss, what happened? How did I fall asleep here? How did you get injured? This looks like you got into a fight."
Having just woken up, his words were somewhat incoherent.
Ji Feng told him to shut up and focus on dressing the wound while he himself sank into deep thought.
He hadn't allowed himself to recall what exactly happened last night. He felt unable to face it.
But after beating Duan Aoxiang and having Duan Aoxiang openly tear apart his dignity, he could finally confront what had actually occurred yesterday.
He couldn't help thinking again that even if he had been set up and gotten drunk, he should have been able to restrain himself.
Even when he discovered the person he had pulled into his arms was a woman, at that moment, he should have been capable of controlling himself.
But that woman's methods were simply too skillful.
She would kiss him, then push him away. Hold him, then complain. Her increasingly intense playing hard to get ultimately provoked the drunk him into losing control, letting impulse take over his mind.
And her alternating between rejection and initiative last night—was she using him to get back at her unfaithful husband?
Considering this possibility, and realizing he seemed to have been reduced to a tool for revenge in someone else's dirty marriage, Ji Feng lost control again. He raised his hand and smashed his fist onto the marble-topped coffee table. The wound on his hand that Xue Rui had just treated immediately split open again. Then he lifted his hand and violently threw a cup onto the floor.
Xue Rui, who had been putting things back into the first aid kit, was stunned by this series of actions, his face full of fear.
"B-boss, wh-what exactly happened..." His voice grew softer as he spoke, somewhat uncertain whether he really wanted to know the answer.
The pain from his hand transmitted to his brain. Ji Feng forced himself to calm down.
Once calm, he found himself feeling even more irritated and disgusted with that woman.
He instructed Xue Rui to go out later and open a bank card with two hundred thousand deposited in it.
Xue Rui wanted to ask what the card was for, but seeing the "ask and you'll die immediately" look in Ji Feng's eyes, he immediately shut up and obeyed.
Then Ji Feng gave Xue Rui another instruction: "When office hours begin, go ask the hotel owner Wei Siyuan for authorization. Then find the housekeeping department head and have him investigate the executive level supervisor's theft of supplies. Use this incident to directly replace the supervisor and put Xu Miyu in the position."
"Ah? Boss, didn't you say yesterday that you weren't going to get involved in this matter?" Xue Rui was completely baffled. "Why are you not only involved again today, but even helping Xu Miyu get promoted directly to supervisor?"
Ji Feng's voice carried a tone of coldness tinged with self-loathing: "I changed my mind. I now feel that I shouldn't be the only one suffering."
Xue Rui wondered if he was still not fully awake. He felt that this morning he couldn't understand what was happening, nor could he comprehend what Ji Feng was saying.
"I shouldn't be the only one suffering"—so what exactly was making his boss suffer?
And if he wanted Xu Miyu to suffer too, shouldn't he let her continue being a housekeeper targeted by her supervisor? How could helping her become supervisor make her suffer?
