Cheng Lele and Chen An became a couple during their university years. The sudden death of Cheng’s father caused a rupture between the once-close families. To comfort her grieving mother, Cheng Lele painfully broke up with Chen An and took on the burdens of life. Years later, Cheng Lele is assigned to return to her hometown as the manager of the struggling Xingchen Cinema. Unexpectedly, she reunites with Chen An, who now holds a new identity - the president of the group investing in Xingchen.

To keep her job and save the cinema, Cheng Lele must navigate her renewed connection with her former lover. Together, they confront multiple crises facing Xingchen Cinema, gradually untangling past misunderstandings and finding their way back to each other. The cinema is reborn as a new city landmark, and the two families are once again united in peace and joy.
