Severаl dауs еаrlier, in the dungeоn whеre Yun Weishаn was imprisоnеd, а figurе in blасk mysteriоusly appearеd аfter knоcking оut thе guаrds. Slоwly, hе рullеd dоwn thе blaсk cloth cоvеring his faсe.
Gong Shangjuе was utterlу shockеd—thе fасе rеvеaled bеnеath thе vеil wаs nonе othеr thаn Gong Ziyu.
“Тhе chiсken soup Jin Fаn delivered соntаined а colorlеss, оdоrless sеdаtivе.”
“Did уоu fоrget thаt I аlso tаke thе Hundred Нerbs Ехtrаct?”
“Оf соursе not. That’s whу I only used it to knoсk out the guards, nоt to resсue Yun Wеishаn.”
“Thеn what is your purpose?”
“Simply to have a proper conversation with you.”
Gong Shangjue sheathed his blade.
“You must be wondering why Madam WuJi exposed the wounds on Yun Weishan’s body. Actually, I asked her to say that.”
Gong Shangjue narrowed his eyes. “You did this to make Yun Weishan tell me that Shangguan Qian is also a Wufeng spy?”
No wonder when he interrogated Yun Weishan, she readily admitted she was a Wufeng spy and told him that Shangguan Qian was one too.
Gong Ziyu replied, “Exactly. I believe you’ve always suspected Shangguan Qian but lacked solid evidence, right?”
Gong Shangjue lowered his gaze and remained silent.
“I once thought you coveted the position of Blade Master and would stop at nothing, even harming Father… But after personally undergoing the Three Realms Trial, I realized that anyone who can pass such rigorous trials must have already set aside their ego, prioritizing the protection of the Gong clan and the Old Dust Valley above all else. They must be responsible, compassionate, and uphold justice. Though I don’t want to say this…” He looked directly at Gong Shangjue. “I truly underestimated you… I owe you an apology.”
“It seems I misjudged you as well. Let’s skip the apologies, shall we?”
“I don’t need your apology.”
“What do you want?”
“To join me in putting on a grand show.”
The torchlight in the dungeon was dim, but Gong Ziyu’s eyes gleamed in the shadows.
Later, they staged a prison break. Young Master Xue, Xue Zhongzi, and Gong Ziyu deliberately surrounded and attacked Gong Shangjue. Then, they carried the “unconscious and bloodied” Gong Shangjue back to Jue Manor, intentionally letting Shangguan Qian witness it to solidify the appearance of internal strife within the House of Gong.
However, what Shangguan Qian did not know was that Gong Shangjue, feigning unconsciousness, quietly opened his eyes and exchanged a glance with Gong Yuanzhi. Both couldn’t help but smile.
Gong Shangjue continued speaking to Han Yi Ke: “The internal conflict within the House of Gong was merely an act. The only ones who became too immersed in the performance without realizing it were you from Wufeng. The blades of the Gong clan have never turned inward—only outward.”
He and Gong Ziyu were united and had already reported everything to the Elders. The members of the House of Gong stood as one, unbreakable.
With their cards on the table, they fought with all their strength. Gong Shangjue swung his blade toward Han Yi Ke, their battle moving from indoors to outside. Gong Shangjue and Gong Yuanzhi worked together, one attacking head-on while the other flanked, combining open assaults with covert strikes. Han Yi Ke moved with incredible lightness and ease, his Inner Force surging forth. With his circular blades capable of absorbing hidden weapons and other blades, the two brothers not only failed to get close to Han Yi Ke but were sometimes pushed to their limits.
After several rounds, Gong Shangjue seized an opening and thrust forward with his long blade. Suddenly, Han Yi Ke rotated his circular blades, unleashing a torrent of Inner Force that shattered Gong Shangjue’s long blade into pieces, scattering them across the ground with a clatter.
