Love for You

Chapter 123

"Of course I love you."

"But you've been so cruel to me, so indifferent. Your love is only built upon the foundation that I love you more."

Chen Yi choked up, taking a long moment before responding: "How about this... Love me a little less. Divert your love to the child in your womb, and let me be the one to love you—even more than I love our child. I promise, I love you more than anyone else in this world, including myself. You need only ask, and I will provide."

Resting in the crook of his arm, she gently stroked his shoulder and murmured softly: "Then can you make me a bowl of mapo tofu? With a steaming bowl of white rice, pork rib and seaweed soup, and some ice cream too."

His entire body jolted. Stiffly, he looked down: "My ancestor, it's three in the morning.".. Have you really no consideration for my feelings?"

Chapter 55: Making You My Home (Part 2)

Chen Yi's business suddenly expanded due to a chance connection with a honeymooning couple he had once hosted. After inviting them to visit a rural farmstead together, they developed a friendship. The couple's family owned a factory specializing in small household appliances, primarily exporting to European and American markets but hadn't yet tapped into Colombia. Chen Yi snatched a major client from Korean competitors, leveraging his resources to become the exclusive agent in Colombia.

Despite having no prior education or exposure to this field in his first twenty-plus years—his theoretical knowledge practically zero—he picked it up effortlessly through sheer cleverness. When Miao Jing asked where he found the confidence and judgment to discern people's authenticity, Chen Yi shrugged. Pretending to casually take a drag from an imaginary cigarette, he slowly exhaled a nonexistent smoke ring and lazily replied that after his years working nightclubs, there wasn't any kind of shady character he hadn't encountered. All roads lead to Rome—he always had ways to get things done.

Miao Jing couldn't help but press her lips together in a smile, lowering her head to stroke her swollen belly while routinely reminding her unborn child not to be corrupted by such an unreliable father.

Whether it was a turn of luck, after Miao Jing became pregnant, Chen Yi's career skyrocketed. Even former property owners he'd met while working security in upscale neighborhoods became business allies, clapping him on the shoulder and saying he inspired confidence. Of course, with Chinese people being such remarkable creatures—someone who could handle firearms and hit targets with one pull of the trigger—it stood to reason he wouldn't do too poorly in business either.

During occasional unavoidable business trips, Chen Yi would leave Miao Jing at home with Meijisi staying overnight with her. Before bed, she'd video call him, and once captured the first movements in her belly—a few distinct kicks from within.

Chen Yi was chatting with clients at a bar when he pulled out his phone and suddenly fell silent. A broad smile spread from the corners of his mouth to his eyes. When clients asked what made him so happy, he said it was his wife—also from China, his childhood sweetheart with deep affection between them, always missing him and urging him to return home early.

Though there were further entertainment plans scheduled, Chen Yi concluded the business discussions, bid farewell to the clients, and flew directly back to Bogotá. He landed late at night, traveling wearily by taxi to stand beneath his apartment building, gazing up at the dark windows with their heavily drawn curtains. Breathing a sigh of relief, he knew behind those windows slept her and their child. The three locks on the main door downstairs were particularly intimidating. Chen Yi realized he hadn’t brought his keys, so he took off his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and climbed up to the third floor by gripping the window frames and drainpipes. Landing with a soft bounce, he let out a sigh of relief, grateful he was still as agile as ever. He pulled out a Swiss army knife, deftly picked the lock, and slipped quietly back into the house.

Meijisi, who was sleeping in the living room, thought a burglar had broken in and nearly screamed in fright. Chen Yi quickly shushed her, and when she recognized him, her lips trembled as she made the sign of the cross, patting her chest and saying she had almost been scared to death.

Miao Jing was sleeping peacefully in her room. He gently pushed the door open and saw her curled up on her side, her graceful figure and long hair spread across the pillow barely visible in the dim light. Only when he leaned closer to the bed could he see the gentle swell of her belly. Chen Yi reached out and tenderly stroked her stomach, then pressed a soft kiss into her hair.

Alone at home with worries on her mind, she slept lightly. The moment his large hand rested on her belly, she stirred faintly, her consciousness drifting back. Blinking her eyes open drowsily, she saw his face and murmured in a soft, adorable voice, "Why are you back so suddenly? Weren’t you supposed to be away for two more days?"

"I finished the important tasks. The rest can be discussed over the phone. I saw the video you sent and came back to check on both of you."

His slender fingers slipped beneath her nightgown, caressing her warm, smooth pregnant belly as he nestled beside her. "Was the little one well-behaved today? Did it miss Daddy?"

The baby hadn’t even been born yet, but he was already sounding like a dad.

"Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t." Miao Jing yawned sleepily and wrapped her arms around his. "You know, it doesn’t really respond to you. It doesn’t seem to like you much either."

"Hmph, I’ll find a way to handle it sooner or later." Chen Yi gritted his teeth playfully. "And did Mommy miss Daddy?"

"What do you think?" Miao Jing nuzzled against him, burying her face in the crook of his neck, her cheek brushing against his Adam’s apple as she took a deep breath. "You’ve been gone for two days."

"But I’m back now, aren’t I?"

He leaned down to kiss her, their lips meeting in a tender, lingering embrace. His tongue gently met hers, savoring the sweetness as if drinking nectar from a flower.

Her nightgown was as light as gossamer, revealing shoulders and a neck as pale and smooth as fine jade. Though Miao Jing had gained a little weight during her pregnancy, her figure remained slender, and Chen Yi was utterly captivated by her softness—every inch of her was a treasure to him.

Like tender leaves and buds unfurling after a long drought, their intimacy unfolded into a gentle, bone-deep tenderness. With Meijisi sleeping just outside the door, they stifled their sounds, keeping their movements quiet. Chen Yi covered Miao Jing’s lips with his palm, watching as her eyes grew hazy with desire, shimmering with a seductive glow. He teased her with a low chuckle, "Why do you bite everything you touch? If Meijisi sees this tomorrow, what do you think she’ll say?"

What could she do? Her body was unusually sensitive during pregnancy, and she could hardly withstand such tender yet prolonged sensations.

In the end, Miao Jing had melted into a soft, sweet marshmallow, languidly collapsing into Chen Yi’s arms, feeling the restrained strength in the rise and fall of his chest.

"Do you need help?" she whispered, tilting her head to look up at him.

Chen Yi kissed her slightly damp forehead, his voice thick with desire. "If you still have the energy, want to save me?"

Miao Jing selflessly offered her fingers. The next day, Chen Yi accompanied Miao Jing to prenatal classes, and they also took the opportunity to look at houses. They needed a bigger home, preferably their own house with a spacious kitchen and elegant bedrooms, including a children's room and a nanny's room, in a community suitable for raising children.
