Fight For Love

Chapter 172

Extra Chapter 7: Chu Linyang

【1】

Chu Linyang was born into a military family. The Chu ancestors rose from humble origins and were considered minor figures among the founding heroes of the nation. Without the heritage of established noble families or overwhelming power, by the time Chu Linyang was born, the Chu family's status in Huajing was merely that of ordinary nobility.

Fortunately, war later broke out. Though his father was simple-minded, he made up for it with sheer courage and achieved numerous military merits. As he operated for years in the southwestern border regions—where there was no permanent garrison like the Wei family's—he gradually trained a military force that could barely be called the Chu Army, which long guarded the southwest.

Because of this, those in Huajing who looked down on his father often mocked that in the southwestern region, "there were no true heroes, allowing a mere nobody to gain fame."

Nevertheless, by the time Chu Linyang grew older, the Chu family had finally become people of standing in Huajing. His elder sister Chu Yu was betrothed to the heir of the Wei family, and his younger sister Chu Jin was engaged to Gu Chusheng, the eldest son of the Gu family. By all accounts, their family's future seemed destined to be secure.

Though secure, it still fell short when compared to the Xie family.

His mother was from the Xie family. Even though she was only the legitimate daughter of a collateral branch, the Xie family was a centuries-old prestigious clan in Huajing, renowned for their elegance and pride. Their children, even those from collateral branches, could marry legitimate sons of ordinary noble families like his father.

His father had a fiery temper, while his mother was timid and weak. One would only shout and yell, the other would only weep and complain. Growing up in such a household, he didn't know how he managed to mature—not only that, but he turned out quite upright. By thirteen, he was a young general; by fifteen, he had numerous shops throughout the southwest and was nicknamed the God of Wealth. Many noble daughters flocked to him, but his mind wasn't on women, and he paid them no attention.

As he grew older, his parents began to worry. His mother had been asking him since he was fifteen if he had "any thoughts." Although respectable families in Huajing typically married their legitimate sons at twenty, his mother urged him to at least get engaged first. Annoyed by the pressure, he waved his hand and said, "I have my eye on Xie Chun, the legitimate daughter of the Xie family."

"What?!" His mother was stunned. He looked up and said calmly, "What? Am I not good enough for her?"

Xie Yun was speechless for a long time. She didn't think her son was unworthy of Xie Chun, but... that wouldn't stop Xie Chun from looking down on him.

【2】

Xie Chun was the legitimate daughter of the Xie family. Her father was a Grand Secretary in the Inner Court, her aunt was the current empress, and every one of her brothers was an outstanding figure.

As for herself, though her looks couldn't compare to Chu Yu or Chu Jin, who were considered the top beauties in Huajing, she possessed an indescribable ethereal quality. Coupled with her sharp intellect and mastery of the four arts—qin, chess, calligraphy, and painting—she became the ideal choice for a principal wife among the scions of noble families, even if she wasn't the most beautiful.

When Chu Linyang said those words, he hadn't even met her. Yet, his statement shocked Xie Yun. After much thought, she decided that rather than letting her son cling to an impossible hope, it would be better to broaden his horizons. There were so many women in Huajing; meeting a few more would surely shift his interests.

So, she inquired with Chu Jianchang about Chu Linyang's schedule, feigned illness to coax him back home, and then, through tears and fuss, forced him to attend the Spring Banquet.Chu Linyang had always been stationed in the southwest and rarely visited such places. Holding a peach blossom, he thought the people at this banquet were utterly foolish—playing the qin, painting, writing poetry, playing chess. How could any of these compare to the practicality of warfare and making money?

Sitting in his seat, he felt stifled and planned to leave Huajing for home as soon as the banquet ended.

Just then, a voice suddenly rose from the crowd: "The Wang Family's Second Young Master has challenged Lady Xie to a debate!"

Scholarly debates were considered an elegant pastime among literati. Compared to poetry and music, Chu Linyang found this far more intriguing. So he picked up a cup of wine and followed the crowd. There, on the elevated platform, he saw a woman in white robes and blue silk, her hair tied high with a jade hairpin. Her demeanor was calm and serene, her movements blending feminine grace with aristocratic elegance, making it impossible to look away.

She was debating the Second Young Master of the Wang Family, Wang Xuan, on the conflict between Confucianism and Legalism. Chu Linyang had little patience for such scholarly discussions and understood little of them. He simply watched her speak eloquently, catching only one clear sentence:

"Embracing Confucianism outwardly and Daoism inwardly is the true path. Use Confucianism as the people's learning and Daoism as the principle for governing. Nurture the people by following nature, and act in accordance with heaven. If the people need commerce, why not open it?"

He was surprised to hear such words from a woman. Even though she ultimately conceded defeat, as he left, he still chose to place the peach blossom on her table.

After returning home, Chu Yu ran over to ask him, "Brother, who was the most beautiful at the Spring Banquet?"

Chu Linyang thought for a moment and replied seriously, "Xie Chun, I suppose."

"Brother, have you decided whom to marry?"

Chu Linyang pondered again, hesitated briefly, and then said, "Not yet."

【3】

The second time he met Xie Chun was not at an occasion like the Spring Banquet.

That year, severe flooding struck the southwest. Relief funds were insufficient, and all his memorials to the court were withheld. Left with no choice, he returned to the capital to seek support. He hosted a banquet for officials from the Ministry of Revenue, drinking himself into a stupor, yet failed to extract any funds from them. Alone in the tavern courtyard, he knelt on the ground and vomited. When he looked up, he saw a young woman standing on the corridor, her expression as cold as a moon goddess descended to earth.

He was taken aback. She walked down from the corridor, bent over, and handed him a silk handkerchief.

"I saw you hosting the Ministry of Revenue officials," she frowned. "Has something happened in the southwest?"

"You know me?"

Chu Linyang took the handkerchief and struggled to his feet. Xie Chun replied calmly, "I know all the sons of Huajing who have gone to the battlefield."

Chu Linyang was slightly stunned, then nodded and said, "Thank you."

He was about to leave, but Xie Chun stopped him.

"What exactly is happening in the southwest?"

She frowned. Chu Linyang knew he shouldn't speak of it, but in that moment, her presence felt like a lifeline in his despair. He couldn't help but confess, "The southwest is flooded. We lack funds."

He briefly explained the situation and sighed. "Lady Xie, this is not your concern. You should return."

"How much is needed?"

She suddenly asked. Chu Linyang was taken aback. He quoted a figure, and Xie Chun nodded, saying, "I understand. I will get it to you in seven days."

Chu Linyang's eyes widened. It was no small sum. Although he had already covered the bulk of the expenses, the remaining amount was still substantial. He had no idea how this woman would find money for him, until the next day, when he heard that Xie Chun was raising funds at her poetry club.

She sold her own poems and her own paintings. He listened to her impassioned speech on the stage and watched as her paintings sold out. In less than seven days, she brought him the silver, still with that indifferent expression, showing neither joy nor anger, and simply said, "General Chu, take care on your journey."

Chu Linyang remained silent for a long while before cupping his hands and replying, "If Miss ever has any need in the future, I, Chu, will go through fire and water without hesitation."

"You fighting on the battlefield is already enough. Xie Chun, with no strength to truss a chicken, cannot join you as a comrade in battle. This meager effort is all I can offer, and I hope you do not disdain it."

Chu Linyang’s gaze fell upon her slender shoulders. She was quite different from Chu Yu. Chu Yu was born on the battlefield; even as a woman, she never gave an impression of fragility or pity. Yet the woman before him was like a willow or reed—seemingly fragile enough to break with a snap, yet possessing an invisible strength.

He had asked himself countless times whether fighting for these people in Huajing was worth it. On the day this woman saw him off, he finally found the answer.

It was worth it.

【4】

He took the money to the southwest, and from then on, he often thought of her. By nature, he was someone who would seize whatever he desired. Yet, for the first time in his life, he felt a sense of "daring not." This woman was too perfect; deep down, he knew she would not like him, and he was not worthy of her.

He began frequently inquiring about her news and sending her gifts. However, her occasional replies only asked about matters in the southwest.

He sent people to gather information about her and learned many things.

For instance, she and Wang Xuan were deeply attached to each other, conversing happily, and it was highly likely their families would form a marriage alliance.

When he received this news, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep. In the end, he rushed back to Huajing from afar and waited outside the Xie residence all night. He had intended to ask her if there was any possibility she would accept his proposal. But at dawn, as she stepped out, he saw her from a distance, smiling radiantly as she walked toward Wang Xuan, who was waiting at the gate. In that moment, he lost all his courage.

He had come to Huajing in silence and returned to the southwest just as quietly. Not half a year after his return, news arrived that Wang Xuan was to marry a princess. Stunned, he immediately turned his horse around and went back. Upon returning, he stationed people near the Xie residence, unsure of what to do.

Then he saw Xie Chun’s maid deliver a letter to Wang Xuan. He secretly followed her and hid on a roof beam, where he overheard Wang Xuan scolding the maid in a low, frantic voice: "What is your young lady doing? Was marrying the princess my decision? This was a marriage decreed by Your Majesty—what could I do? If I ran away with her, what would become of our families?"

"But..."The maid’s eyes reddened as she whispered, "But the young lady is carrying your child.".."

Wang Xuan froze for a moment, then flushed crimson and retorted, "You... don’t talk nonsense! Who knows whose child that is?"

"Master Wang!"The maid, infuriated by his words, raised her head and said, "The young lady has only ever been with you." How can you say such a thing?"

"That one time with her was when we were drunk," Wang Xuan snapped angrily. "How could something like this happen? Go back and make it clear to her—this child isn’t mine. She can’t pin it on me!"After speaking, Wang Xuan had the maidservant driven back. The maid returned to the Xie residence in tears, not daring to state the matter too directly, only saying: "Young Master Wang said this matter concerns both families... he is unwilling to come..."

"Whether he's willing to come or not is his business."

Xie Chun seemed somewhat weary: "But whether I wait or not is my business."

Having said this, she stood up, had the maid fetch her cloak, and carrying her sword and bundle, she went out under cover of night.

Chu Linyang, fearing something might happen to her, followed closely behind.

He saw the young lady leave the city and then wait all night on the main road.

She waited through the night, from darkness until dawn, but the person she awaited never came.

At daybreak, she finally told the maid: "You should go back first."

"Young miss..."

"I'll wait a little longer, just a little longer. If he doesn't come, I'll return. I want to be alone with my thoughts."

As she spoke, she handed her bundle to the maid, her voice hoarse: "Go back first and put these things away."

The maid hesitated for a moment before finally departing.

After the maid left, Xie Chun descended from the carriage and began climbing the mountain.

Chu Linyang followed quietly behind her. Her expression remained calm, as always, revealing no particular emotion. Even at this moment, she merely appeared somewhat haggard, yet her every movement still maintained that innate elegance and composure ingrained in her bones.

After much effort, she reached the mountaintop and walked to the cliff's edge. The wind whipped her sleeves about as the sun slowly rose. Seeing her spread her sleeves and step forward, Chu Linyang could no longer remain a spectator. He rushed over and, at the moment she was about to fall from the cliff, grabbed her hand.

Xie Chun looked up at him calmly and said: "Let go."

The man said nothing. Chu Linyang held her firmly, braced himself against the ground, and with a mighty shout, pulled her up, causing her to collide with him.

"I don't need your rescue."

Xie Chun pushed herself up. Chu Linyang lay on the ground, closing his eyes: "Then go die for someone else."

Xie Chun froze at his words. Chu Linyang continued: "Your parents gave you life and raised you, and you'd die for some scum? Giving pain to your loved ones and pleasure to your enemies, throwing away everything you've learned - are you satisfied with that?"

Xie Chun remained silent. Chu Linyang sat up, supporting himself with one hand while resting the other on his knee, looking at her: "Is your whole life worth so little? You sleep with a man once, get pregnant, he rejects you, and you go die? Xie Chun, I thought you were quite intelligent. How have you become as foolish as those other women? Was your entire life meant to be lived for a man?"

"No..."

"Then why seek death?"

"I've brought shame upon my family's honor..."

"How have you brought shame?" Chu Linyang scoffed. "Oh, you fell for someone, were taken advantage of while drunk, got pregnant, were abandoned, and you've brought shame upon your family? Is it wrong to love someone? As for the rest - you're the victim. Shouldn't Wang Xuan be the one feeling ashamed? Where's the logic in this!"Xie Chun trembled slightly. Chu Linyang looked at her calmly and said, "The world is unjust, but you must be fair to yourself in your heart. There's nothing wrong with liking someone and wanting to be close to them. The one who violated you—that was his fault. I know you're suffering, and it's easy for me to stand here and talk without feeling your pain, but Xie Chun, everyone in this world has their own hardships. Death is easy, but after you're gone, the suffering falls on others."

"Have you thought about your parents and elder brother? Have you thought about all those who love you? Have you thought about all the things you still want to do but haven't yet? Xie Chun, don't tell me that in this lifetime you were born for nothing but to find a man to marry. If that were the case, why did you read so many books, learn so much, and work so hard?"

Xie Chun remained silent, quietly watching him. Chu Linyang sighed and said to her, "Alright, I'll take you back."

Xie Chun lowered her eyes without speaking. Chu Linyang stepped forward, picked up the branch she had broken earlier, and said, "Let's go, I'll take you back."

"I can't go back."

Xie Chun's voice was hoarse: "The matter of the child... can't be hidden."

"Then what do you want to do?"

Chu Linyang looked up at her. Xie Chun pressed her lips together and said nothing. Chu Linyang sighed and finally said, "Forget it, let me be honest with you."

He turned his head away, appearing very composed, yet said: "Actually, when I heard you were with Wang Xuan, I waited outside the Xie residence all night. I wanted to ask you if I could marry you, but I didn't dare."

"Even now, I shouldn't be asking you. If you marry me, it should be because you're willing, not because someone forced you. Xie Chun, even if you have a child, those who truly care for you will still care for you deeply. But I'm just offering you a solution..." Chu Linyang lowered his gaze, "If you want to keep this child, I can propose marriage tomorrow. When the time comes, I will treat the child as my own."

Xie Chun was slightly stunned. Chu Linyang continued: "If you don't want to marry me just for the child, that's fine too. I'll still stay by your side. When I've earned enough military merits to be worthy of you, I'll still propose. It'll just be a few years later."

Xie Chun didn't speak. She stared at him blankly, her expression complex.

After a long time, she finally spoke hoarsely: "This... is unfair to you."

Chu Linyang smiled.

"Where in this world is there true fairness? If we're talking about fairness, has this world ever been fair to you women?"

Xie Chun remained silent. Chu Linyang waited for her response. After a long time, she finally said: "I will abort this child."

"If it's born, it will suffer too much injustice. If I cannot give it a good life, I don't want to irresponsibly bring it into this world."

Chu Linyang nodded. Xie Chun sighed: "I'm sorry, General Chu."

She spoke hoarsely: "Meeting you in such a wretched state... I've been discourteous."

【5】

Xie Chun returned to the Xie residence. After returning, there was no more news of her.

The Xie family handled all matters perfectly, not letting any information leak out.

When Wang Xuan married Princess Yulin, Chu Linyang saw Xie Chun at the wedding.

She had grown much thinner, smiling as she watched the newlyweds, not a trace of displeasure on her face.

Chu Linyang kept watching her. He was soon to depart for the southwest, afraid that once he left, he wouldn't know when they might meet again. She turned back to look at him in the crowd, then nodded at him with a faint smile. It was a rare smile, carrying a sense of openness and composure that had never been there before.

When it was time to take their seats, she went out for a stroll in the courtyard, and he quickly followed. The two met in the yard, remaining silent for a long while. In the end, Xie Chun was the first to speak, gently saying, "General Chu, we meet again."

Chu Linyang responded with a hum. In truth, he had many questions he wanted to ask but didn’t know how to begin. Xie Chun, however, spoke first: "I heard that General Chu will soon be heading to the southwest. When do you plan to depart?"

"In ten days."

Xie Chun nodded and looked up at him. "Has General Chu ever been to Huguo Temple?"

Chu Linyang was momentarily taken aback. After a moment, he understood and lowered his voice, stammering, "N-no... I haven’t..."

"Perhaps another day I could guide you on a visit to Huguo Temple?"

"Mm..."

Chu Linyang’s face flushed red, and he quickly added, "I’ll bring my younger sister along."

Xie Chun hadn’t expected him to say that and chuckled lightly. "That’s fine."

They agreed to meet the next day. Early the following morning, Chu Linyang woke Chu Jin and Chu Yu.

The two girls were still asleep and somewhat reluctant as he pulled them up, but they went to Huguo Temple together. When they arrived, Xie Chun was already waiting. Chu Jin sensed something between the two and pulled Chu Yu along, following at a distance without getting close.

Xie Chun led Chu Linyang up the mountain, speaking calmly, "Once you leave for the southwest, General, who knows when you’ll return."

"It shouldn’t be too long..."

Xie Chun nodded and continued, "I haven’t yet thanked you for what happened that day."

"Mm."

Chu Linyang nodded, and after a long pause, finally said, "Are you... are you well now?"

"I’ve been resting for some time and am now following the physician’s prescription for recovery. I should be fine now."

Xie Chun answered candidly, leaving Chu Linyang at a loss for words. Xie Chun smiled and said, "My family is quite anxious and keeps trying to marry me off to just anyone. If General Chu were to propose now, I’m afraid my family would agree without hesitation."

Hearing this, Chu Linyang frowned. He looked into Xie Chun’s smiling eyes, about to say something, but she interrupted him: "But I would not agree."

"You’re right," she said with a smile. "I won’t let one incident diminish my worth. So, if I were to marry General Chu, it should be because I like him."

Chu Linyang’s expression gradually softened. He pressed his lips together and nodded. "I understand."

He then said, "I will come to propose another day."

Xie Chun’s eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly said, "I didn’t mean—"

"Please refuse," he said earnestly. "Refuse, and I will propose again. Whenever you feel ready to accept, then you can agree."

"The Xie Chun I wish to marry is one who values herself and can uphold her family’s honor."

【6】

Chu Linyang kept his word. Five days later, he wrote a betrothal gift list that stretched a full two zhang long and sent Xie Yun and Chu Jianchang to propose on his behalf.

The sheer scale of the betrothal gifts stunned even the Xie family. Only then did the capital realize that this god of wealth from the southwest was truly a real god of wealth.

The Xie family initially wanted to agree immediately, but after some discussion, they ultimately declined.

When Wang Xuan heard the news in the palace, she instinctively muttered, "How dare she refuse?"When these words reached Chu Linyang's ears, the very next day, Wang Xuan was beaten in an alley. That wasn't the end of it—when he woke up the following day, he found himself disheveled and lying in a brothel. The princess arrived with her entourage in a furious rage, and her guards promptly broke Wang Xuan's leg on the spot.

Upon hearing about this, Xie Chun was momentarily stunned. It took her a long while to process the news, and when she finally did, she asked, "They haven't found out who did it, have they?"

"Not yet," the maid replied with a smile. "The Wang Family suspects the master sent someone to beat him, but they don't dare come and ask about it."

Hearing this, Xie Chun pursed her lips and smiled.

"They wouldn't dare."

She spoke gently, then lowered her gaze without saying more.

Later, Chu Linyang went to the southwest, sending gifts to the Xie family every month.

He was a perceptive man, having thoroughly understood the preferences of the Xie family members. He catered to their tastes, sending many things.

Whatever the Xie family lacked, he could obtain it, to the point where everyone in the Xie household kept urging Xie Chun.

"Marry him."

"Though his status is a bit low, he's truly a good man."

"Marry him."

Xie Chun pursed her lips but said nothing.

She received his letters daily and read them every day. To please her, he had read many books, carefully taking notes and sharing his thoughts, which he sent back to her.

When he had free time, he would return from the southwest, sometimes traveling for days just to see her once before leaving again.

She finally began to learn what it meant to miss someone, to feel joy and sorrow because of this person. Once, when he visited, she gave him new clothes and pastries she had made. Chu Linyang was taken aback, then smiled faintly.

Another half a year passed, and Wang Xuan was dispatched to the southwestern battlefield, where he died in battle.

When she heard the news, she was stunned. She thought she would feel sad, but found she didn't.

This person seemed like a wound in her life. Over time, with good medicine, it slowly healed without even leaving a scar.

What occupied her thoughts was another matter: Wang Xuan had died, and Chu Linyang was also on the battlefield. Would he meet the same fate?

As she pondered this, that very night, amid wind and rain, someone knocked on her door.

He had climbed over the wall to get in, carrying a strong smell of blood and sweat, clearly having rushed straight to Huajing from the battlefield.

Xie Chun opened the door and froze at the sight of him covered in blood. Chu Linyang looked at her nervously and said, "I'm sorry."

"What?"

She didn't understand. Chu Linyang breathed heavily. "Wang Xuan was surrounded. I admit, I wasn't willing to do everything to save him. But if I had truly tried to rescue him, the sacrifices would have been too great. I didn't think it was worth it."

"Are you afraid I'll blame you?"

Xie Chun finally grasped his meaning. Chu Linyang lowered his eyes.

"I have to confess to you, I've always been a narrow-minded person," he said quietly. "I don't have a strong sense of right and wrong. I act too extremely. Wang Xuan... even if he hadn't died today, I can't guarantee that someday, when I return to Huajing, I wouldn't find an opportunity to kill him."

Xie Chun said nothing. After a long while, she reached out and embraced him.

Chu Linyang stiffened.

After a long moment, he managed to say one word: "Dirty..."

"I don't blame you for not saving him," Xie Chun sighed. "I was just afraid, Linyang. Thankfully, it was Wang Xuan who was surrounded today, not you."

"Linyang," she said gently, "I'm getting older. Everyone teases me for being an old maid. Will you marry me?"

"Who says you're an old maid?" Chu Linyang frowned. Xie Chun laughed. "Is that the point?"

"The point is you asking me to marry you?"

Chu Linyang looked down at her. "But wasn't this matter settled long ago? I was just waiting for you to agree."

【7】

After Chu Linyang cleaned up, the next day he went with his people to propose marriage again.

The Xie family had come to treat Chu Linyang's marriage proposals as casual visits and were already used to it. They served the Chu family tea, and Xie Da Xueshi chatted with Chu Linyang before sending someone to ask Xie Chun. Expecting another refusal, they were surprised when the maid returned, excitedly exclaiming, "She agreed! The young lady agreed!"Minister Xie was so startled that he spat out a mouthful of tea.

And so, the matter was settled.

Chu Linyang gave Xie Chun an unprecedented wedding ceremony, almost entirely funded by money. Some in Huajing couldn't help but criticize him as vulgar, then said that by marrying such a person, Xie Chun had also lost her refinement.

But when Chu Linyang lifted the bridal veil amidst all the glittering gold, Xie Chun felt that Chu Linyang's golden aesthetic wasn't so bad after all.

After marriage, Xie Chun managed the household while Chu Linyang handled external affairs. Xie Chun didn't particularly like Xie Yun, and Xie Yun was naturally somewhat afraid of Xie Chun, so with one timid and the other aloof, they managed to coexist peacefully.

Xie Chun handled the accounts with great expertise in household management. Thus, even with Xie Yun as the nominal mistress, the internal affairs of the Chu residence never went awry and were always kept in perfect order.

Xie Chun had a delicate constitution, while Chu Yu was exceptionally strong. Once, during a meeting, Chu Yu gave her a hearty pat on the shoulder that left a palm-shaped bruise. Chu Linyang's face immediately darkened, and he later beat Chu Yu so severely in the training ground that she cried for her parents. From then on, whenever he saw Chu Yu, Chu Linyang would hold his wife in his arms and take a step back, guarding against Chu Yu's physical contact.

Later, when the world fell into chaos, Chu Linyang declared himself king.

On the day he made this decision, after restraining himself for a long time, he returned to his room and said to Xie Chun: "My lady, perhaps you should return to the Xie family first. If everything turns out well here, I will welcome you back. If something happens to me, you can remain with the Xie family..."

Before he could finish, Xie Chun shook her head.

Chu Linyang was slightly taken aback, watching as Xie Chun looked up at him.

"The Xie family has its choices, and I have mine," she said gently. "Linyang, I am your wife and the mother of your children. I cannot understand my father's choice, but I respect it, and I believe he will respect mine as well."

"I will stay with you until the very end. If you truly depart, I will protect the Chu family."

She spoke with utmost seriousness: "I am the matriarch of the Chu family."

Chu Linyang was momentarily stunned.

In that instant, he thought of Chu Yu.

He suddenly realized that not everyone could truly fulfill the role of matriarch.

He suddenly understood where that awe he felt for her during the spring banquet when he was eighteen came from.

A woman who not only enjoys her privileges but also shoulders her responsibilities—neither haughty nor humble, composed and graceful.

No matter what she experiences in life, whether she wields a sword or a brush, whether her heart holds the nation or her family, she will always shine brightly.

So it was with Chu Yu, so with Jiang Chun, so with Wei Qingping, so with the Grand Princess, and so with Xie Chun.
