Coming to Myself

Chapter 265

She returned to the hospital room, but by noon, Yin Feng still hadn't woken up. She ate the lunch Chen Feng had brought, then leaned back on the sofa and dozed off for a while.

When she woke up, she saw that Yin Feng was already awake. Chen Feng had just finished feeding him and was tidying up the utensils, smiling as he said, "The boss's wife slept so comfortably herself, while I had to endure complaints while feeding him."

You Mingxu's face tightened again, thinking how quickly gossip spread within their little group. She pretended not to hear and walked over to Yin Feng's side. After Chen Feng left, You Mingxu asked, "How are you feeling?"

Yin Feng had naturally heard Chen Feng's remark and replied indifferently, "I'm alright. What do they mean by calling you 'boss's wife'?"

You Mingxu glanced at him.

His gaze was profound.

Yet she only felt that this man had truly become more troublesome than before. Deliberately cool, she said, "Did I agree to it? No."

Yin Feng said, "Do you prefer them to call you 'teacher's wife'? I think 'boss's wife' sounds better."

You Mingxu almost laughed. "Get lost. They should all call me 'sister'."

Before the words faded, her hand was caught by his. Though his grip was light, You Mingxu didn't pull away.

He stared at her: "Then what will you call me from now on? Still dryly calling me Yin Feng? I don't like that."

You Mingxu complied amiably: "Teacher Yin."

His hand tightened slightly: "Call me properly."

You Mingxu turned her face away, unwilling to engage.

Yin Feng said softly, "When others are around, call me A-Feng. When we're alone, call me husband."

You Mingxu lifted her head and met his clear, bright eyes. A strange feeling stirred in her heart, the two words dancing on the tip of her tongue. She called out, "A-Feng."

A faint light seemed to flicker in Yin Feng's eyes. He hummed in acknowledgment and said, "Come closer."

You Mingxu, still unwilling to argue with him while he was injured, carefully leaned against his chest. He raised a hand, held her, and stroked her hair for a moment before saying, "You called me wrong. There's no one else here now."

You Mingxu: "Don't push your luck."

He said, "I want more than just pushing my luck."

You Mingxu was momentarily speechless. She straightened up and looked at his face, which had seemed somewhat gloomy since he woke up. "What exactly are you angry about? Weren't things fine before? How have I offended you?"

Yin Feng hadn't expected her sudden question. He paused briefly before replying lightly, "You haven't offended me. It's just that recently... both my body and mood haven't been great."

Hearing this, You Mingxu immediately thought of Lao Jiu and believed him somewhat. Moreover, although she always felt something was off about Yin Feng, his attitude toward her didn't seem to have changed. The emotions swirling in his eyes remained the same.

So You Mingxu didn't press the issue further.

She read to him for a while longer until he said he felt uncomfortable and wanted to wash up. But given his severe injuries, he definitely couldn't get wet. After checking with the doctor, You Mingxu brought a basin of warm water to give him a simple wipe-down.

You Mingxu asked, "Does it feel good? Do you feel like you've turned the tables and become the master?"

Yin Feng suddenly realized that You Mingxu had a mischievous side too. Just like him.

Thinking this, the corners of his mouth curved upward as he replied, "Not enough yet."You Mingxu let out a soft hum, her hands moving with utmost gentleness as she first wiped his face with a warm towel, then his neck and shoulders. His body was once familiar to her, but it had indeed been a long time since she had touched him so meticulously. Her expression unchanged, she proceeded to wipe his arms. His torso was injured and couldn’t be moved, but his legs were intact. She rolled up the legs of his hospital gown and carefully wiped them clean.

Yin Feng hadn’t expected that being cared for by her like this would evoke such feelings. It was exceptionally quiet, time seeming to slow down, the delicate, comfortable sensation seeping from his skin, gradually permeating his entire body.

He stared intently at her and suddenly said, “If you ever leave one day, I don’t know what I might do.”

You Mingxu’s hand paused only for a moment before she continued wiping slowly and said, “Stop overthinking and stop threatening me. That’s asking for a beating.”

Yin Feng fell silent.

After finishing wiping his body, You Mingxu looked him over and asked, “Do you feel a little more comfortable now?”

He gave an “mm” of acknowledgment and pointed to the bed, saying, “Lie down with me.”

You Mingxu glanced at the hospital bed—it wasn’t wide to begin with, and at most, she could only squeeze in sideways, which would definitely be uncomfortable—so she refused.

Yin Feng frowned. “You won’t even do this?”

You Mingxu felt he really must have taken the wrong medicine. Though not too obvious, there was a faint sense of him acting out. Seeing his persistently sullen face, she inexplicably felt like laughing. In the end, she carefully leaned against the edge of the bed and lay down, nestling close to him.

They were very close, and when he turned to look at her, the intensity in his gaze made You Mingxu’s heart race, so she closed her eyes.

Only then did he smile—a satisfied, joyful smile, faint but spreading across his entire face. You Mingxu’s heart swelled as if soaked in honey. Such a feeling was something You Yingjun had once given her, but what the person before her now offered was clearly more explicit and intense.

They lay in silence for a while before he asked softly, “Baby, do you love me?”

You Mingxu’s brow twitched. “Don’t call me that. It’s too cheesy.”

He paused for a moment and said, “The charm of language lies in the fact that specific words, shaped by cultural evolution and accumulation, can relatively accurately express the complex psychological activities and emotions of humans. I couldn’t find a more precise word; only this one comes close.”

You Mingxu was momentarily stunned by his explanation, then her face flushed slightly as she whispered, “Can’t you just call me A Xu? You’re dithering like a woman.”

Yin Feng’s expression turned cold. “Come closer.”

She moved a little nearer, and his voice, low and muffled, sounded by her ear, “A Xu, my baby… my darling…”

You Mingxu’s face grew even hotter. She didn’t respond, but after a moment, she leaned down and kissed him.

When a knock sounded at the door, You Mingxu flipped off the bed in one swift motion, agile as a rabbit. Yin Feng, still unsatisfied, frowned in displeasure. You Mingxu quickly straightened her clothes and sat down by the bed.

When Chen Feng pushed the door open and entered, he took in the atmosphere in the room and Yin Feng’s faintly resentful expression, and immediately understood everything. He thought to himself that You Mingxu was quite the bold one—even with Teacher Yin in this state, the two of them still seemed to be finding ways to get intimate. Good heavens, these two were truly inseparable, like honey mixed with oil. From now on, he would have to serve them even more carefully to avoid being accidentally harmed by the fiercely possessive Teacher Yin.
