Seeing You Mingxu walk away and no one around, Yin Feng first took off his overcoat, then his suit jacket, tossing them to Tuya who had just come upstairs. He then loosened the collar button, turned his face with a smile, and asked Tuya, "Does it look like him?"
Tuya thought for a moment, lowered his head and chuckled, saying, "Open your mouth a bit wider... you need to look like a complete fool when you smile."
Yin Feng pressed his thin lips together but eventually complied, revealing a "You Yingjun"-style grin.
Tuya nodded. "That's much closer now."
"Wait here. Come in when I call you. It'll be quick—don't hold back."
"Yes."
Yin Feng stood by the door, contemplated for a moment, then rose on his tiptoes and cautiously pushed it open.
Just as You Mingxu had suspected, Luo Yu hadn't been paying attention to his situation lately and naturally had no up-to-date information about Yin Feng's recent state. When Luo Yu looked up, he saw the fool peeking in, his eyes filled with both hatred and fear. This expression amused Luo Yu, who smiled and said to the lawyer beside him, "Looks like we didn't scare him completely stupid last time."
The two acted as if no one else was present, utterly ignoring Yin Feng. Yin Feng, pretending not to understand, pouted exaggeratedly and pointed outside the door. "Bad guy! You Mingxu says your lawyer should go downstairs to complete the paperwork."
The lawyer glanced at Luo Yu, who saw no reason to doubt and nodded.
After the lawyer left, Yin Feng entered and sat down opposite Luo Yu. Luo Yu had never taken him seriously, but the thought of this fool being constantly paired with You Mingxu irritated him. Smirking maliciously, he asked, "Fool, how have things been... with You Mingxu lately?"
Yin Feng raised his head indignantly. "Great! Really great!"
Luo Yu grew angrier at his expression and replied with a hollow smile, "Is that so? Too bad she's just my leftovers. Do you know what 'leftovers' means? It means I got tired of playing with her and threw her away, but you treat her like a treasure. Haha!"
Luo Yu didn't notice the dark flicker in Yin Feng's lowered eyes. When Yin Feng looked up again, his expression was resolute. "No way! You... You said she dumped you, and you've been pestering her like chewing gum every day. I've seen you chasing after her all the time. So actually, she got tired of playing with you—you're her leftovers. Xu Mengshan, Ding Xiongwei, lots of cops know about it."
Luo Yu felt a pang of frustration, his gaze turning gloomy as he stared coldly at the man before him. "What makes you think you can compete with me for a woman?"
Yin Feng replied, "Why would I need to compete? She's already mine. She said she only wants to be with me, and that you're scum. She hates scum the most and wishes she could lock all of you up. Are you trying to compete with me? Too bad you can't win. She's mine, her heart is mine. Only a prison cell is reserved for you."
Scum... huh?
Even though he had braced himself for it, hearing her describe him that way—especially from a fool who shouldn't be capable of lying—felt like a sharp sting from a hornet. Luo Yu's smile grew even more sinister.
Unaware that he had provoked this black-hearted man, the fool beamed an extremely bright smile—exactly like the one Yin Feng had just practiced outside the door.
Since Luo Yu had only been invited back to the police station for questioning, with his lawyer present, he wasn't handcuffed or shackled, merely asked to sit properly. Now, he slowly leaned forward across the table toward Yin Feng and said with a smile, "Let me tell you a secret..."Yin Feng didn't suspect anything and imitated his posture, slowly leaning closer.
Luo Yu, who had practiced mixed martial arts for years, moved swiftly. With a long kick, he knocked over the nearby camera to ensure the following events wouldn't be recorded. Then, he made a grab for Yin Feng's neck. Unexpectedly, Yin Feng, who had seemed foolishly waiting for a secret, tilted his head and dodged as if he had anticipated it.
Luo Yu froze for a moment, about to grab again, but Yin Feng had already sprung up, leisurely leaning back into his chair and calling out, "Tuya."
A burly man rushed in, closed the door behind him, and locked it.
Luo Yu was taken aback, a sense of foreboding washing over him.
Then, he saw the fool across from him suddenly transform. Yin Feng rested his arms on the chair's armrests, slowly leaned his head back, and the foolish glint in his eyes vanished completely, replaced by a deep, somber light.
Luo Yu's heart sank.
In an instant, Tuya had Luo Yu pinned. Though Luo Yu was agile, he was, after all, just a lawyer. Tuya, with his ruthless strength, handled him as easily as plucking a chick. Pressed against the table, Luo Yu's face was forced against the surface, flushed and pale.
Then, he felt a cold hand lightly pat his cheek twice.
"What kind of thing are you? Daring to provoke me?" The voice was as faint as water. "You're nothing but a clown. You've never even seen what a true beast looks like."
Hearing the icy chill in his words, Luo Yu felt both shock and fury. Instead, he struggled and let out a fierce, twisted smile.
"Don't leave any obvious injuries," Yin Feng said calmly. "I don't want our Youyou blaming me."
Tuya chuckled. "Understood." This kind of thing was his specialty.
Upon hearing this, Luo Yu struggled desperately, his neck straining. "You dare attack me in a police station? Believe me, I'll sue you until you rot in jail!"
In response, Yin Feng patted his head again, as if petting a dog. Yin Feng said, "You deliberately kicked the camera over—that action was recorded. In the interrogation room, you attempted suicide out of guilt, and my driver saved you, leading to a fierce struggle. You're welcome."
Luo Yu was nearly driven mad with rage. But just as Yin Feng had said, he had kicked the camera purely to beat this fool senseless, thinking there would be no evidence. Now that he was about to be beaten, and the camera had been kicked over by his own hand, he truly had no way to defend himself.
"Beast!" Luo Yu snarled viciously. In reply, Tuya delivered a muffled punch to an inconspicuous spot under his right rib, rendering Luo Yu unable to make a sound.
Yin Feng watched him get beaten with an utterly indifferent gaze, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Well said."
After watching for a while, he grew bored and left Tuya to handle the aftermath, turning to exit the room.
He stood at the doorway for a moment, gazing at the drifting clouds in the sky—light, faint, gathering and scattering unpredictably, much like life itself. His mind empty, he heard someone approaching from beside him. From the footsteps, he could tell it was that woman.
So, he didn't bother turning around, continuing to gaze into the distance.
You Mingxu, however, paused in surprise.
Yin Feng was only wearing a suit jacket draped over his shoulders, unbuttoned, with the outer coat hanging on the balcony railing. He looked somewhat lazy and casual. As he stared into the distance, lost in thought, he lacked the gloomy, cold demeanor of the past few days. His deep, clear eyes instead carried a resemblance to the former You Yingjun.
The muffled sounds from the interrogation room had already ceased. You Mingxu glanced at the closed door and asked suspiciously, "What are you up to? Why did you send Luo Yu's lawyer down to find me?" As soon as the question left her lips, her expression stiffened, and she turned to rush into the interrogation room.
Yin Feng pulled her back firmly and said, "If I were you, I wouldn't go in right now."
You Mingxu snapped, "You can't abuse private punishment in the police station!"
"No," Yin Feng chuckled. "He really threw the first punch—kicked over the camera and tried to hit me. I was just defending myself."
How much of this was true and how much was false? You Mingxu knew Luo Yu's nature well enough—it wouldn't be surprising if he had attacked Yin Feng like that. But still...
Just then, the interrogation room door opened. Tuya glanced at the two outside, lowered his head, and stepped aside.
You Mingxu immediately spotted Luo Yu inside, beaten half to death. Though it felt satisfying—the guy had committed countless heinous acts—it was still inappropriate.
"Don't feel sorry for your ex-boyfriend," Yin Feng's cool voice cut in. "He messed with me once, and I'm just returning the favor. I’ve gone easy on him—I doubt he’s in worse shape now than I was back then."
You Mingxu’s mind flashed to the image of You Yingjun—trembling, numb, and broken as if lifeless in her arms—and she fell silent. But then it occurred to her: she had already avenged Yin Feng once by beating Luo Yu herself. And now he’d done it again.
You Mingxu said, "Couldn’t you have waited until he left the police station to strike? Did you have to do it on my turf?"
Yin Feng looked at her. "A gentleman’s revenge brooks no delay, not even a day."
You Mingxu: "..."
At that moment, Xu Mengshan ran up the stairs with a grave expression. "Something’s happened!"
You Mingxu: "What?"
"Xiang Rong just died in the detention center!"
Both You Mingxu and Yin Feng paled. Yin Feng asked, "How did he die?"
Xu Mengshan replied, "Initial suspicion is slow-acting poisoning. He suddenly fell ill, and by the time the guards found him, he was already dead!"
