Inside thе jеt bridgе, first-clаss раssеngеrs hаd alrеаdy bеen аllowed tо boаrd аhеad оf оthеrs.
Ruаn Sixian stoоd at the front of the сrew, straightenеd her cоllar, liftеd hеr chin, аnd gazed into the distance along the jet bridge.
The morning sunlight lazily spilled through the glass onto the floor of the jet bridge, and the approaching footsteps were clear and familiar.
Fu Mingyu walked casually, dressed in a simple white T-shirt and black pants, the light and shadows dancing faintly on his shoulders.
The moment Fu Mingyu stopped in front of Ruan Sixian, their eyes met, and the flow of light seemed to slow down.
Ruan Sixian cleared her throat, raised her head slightly, and lowered her gaze as she spoke. "Mr. Fu, Captain Ruan Sixian is at your service for this flight."
"Hmm," Fu Mingyu replied calmly. "Thank you, Captain Ruan."
Ruan Sixian: "It's my duty."
As Fu Mingyu walked toward the cabin, the crew members behind him kept their eyes downcast, remaining silent, acting as if they understood the situation perfectly.
In reality, they had no idea what kind of game these two were playing.
"Let's go," Ruan Sixian said, turning to follow Fu Mingyu's figure and waving to the co-pilot. "Let's head in."
A few minutes later, the other first-class passengers settled into their seats.
The cabin air conditioning was set a bit low. A young woman wrapped herself in a blanket, took out an eye mask, and prepared to sleep straight away. Her companion nudged her shoulder.
"Look over there."
The woman turned to look. The man's profile was half-hidden in the light, so handsome it seemed almost unreal.
Her companion whispered in her ear, "Your type."
The woman pursed her lips and said nothing.
Over ten minutes later, boarding was completed, the cabin door closed, and the flight attendants began walking slowly through the cabin to check safety measures.
The woman stole several glances to the side and finally couldn't resist. She unbuckled her seatbelt and walked over.
"Sir..."
Fu Mingyu looked up at the sound. "Hmm?"
"Um..." The woman felt her companion's teasing gaze behind her, and a blush immediately spread across her face. The phone in her hand seemed to grow hot. "Could I add you on WeChat?"
The chief flight attendant, who happened to be passing by, suddenly coughed loudly. "Ma'am, our aircraft will be taking off shortly. Please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelt."
"Okay, okay, right away!"
The woman didn't notice anything unusual about the flight attendant's behavior; she just felt a hint of urgency in her nervous gaze toward Fu Mingyu.
Fu Mingyu leaned lazily against the backrest, slowly raised his hand, curled his fingers slightly, and rested his chin on his palm. The ring on his ring finger was very conspicuous.
"I'm married."
"...Oh."
The woman froze suddenly, embarrassed to the point of her scalp tingling.
"S-sorry."
After returning to her seat, the woman hugged her blanket, too embarrassed to even glance in that direction again.
"What happened?"
Her companion asked quietly.
"Don't talk, it's so embarrassing!"
The woman's neck flushed with awkwardness. "Didn't you see the ring on his hand?"
Her companion, undaunted, boldly looked over.
"He looks a bit familiar. Have I seen him somewhere before? He looks quite young, and he's already married... What a shame, married so young."“Why do I also feel like she looks a bit familiar…”
Fu Mingyu turned his head to look out the window. The airport stretched wide under a vast, cloudless blue sky, with occasional gusts of wind stirring the air.
His phone had been buzzing since morning, and Fu Mingyu was thoroughly annoyed.
Zhu Dong : It’s rare we’re all free. How about playing cards tonight?
[Fu Mingyu]: Not going.
[Ji Yan]: What cards? Let’s do something healthy. There’s a car show at the convention center this afternoon. Wanna check it out?
[Fu Mingyu]: Not going.
[Yan An]: I’m starting to think you’re a bit antisocial. Doesn’t your wife have a flight today? It’s the weekend, and you’re just staying home alone in an empty house?
Zhu Dong : Yan An, that’s a bit low of you.
[Ji Yan]: How do you know about his wife’s schedule?
[Ji Yan]: Treating Sister An’an like she’s invisible?
[Yan An]: Are you crazy?
[Yan An]: Haven’t you guys seen his wife’s social media? She posted photos early this morning for her first flight as captain.
Zhu Dong and Ji Yan both clicked into their social media feeds, but the first post they saw was from their good friend.
“My wife is taking me on a road trip.”
The accompanying photo featured the iconic wing of an ACJ30.
“…”
The group chat fell silent for several seconds.
[Ji Yan]: Wait, is that really how you use ‘road trip,’ President Fu?
[Yan An]: President Fu, you’re something else. Flying there in the morning and back in the evening, and you have the nerve to call it a road trip? More like an airport half-day tour.
[Fu Mingyu]: Any objections?
Zhu Dong : No objections. It’s just that my wife doesn’t know how to fly a plane.
[Ji Yan]: No objections. It’s just that I don’t have a plane or a wife.
[Yan An]: Pretty proud of living off your wife’s success, huh.
The plane began to push back, and a slight tremor ran through the cabin.
Fu Mingyu turned off his phone, ignoring the group.
Though he couldn’t see into the cockpit, his experience allowed him to picture the scene vividly, even hearing the sounds in his mind.
—80 knots, check.
—V1, check.
—V2, check.
—VR, check.
—Rotate.
—Liftoff.
—HS5286 has taken off. Thank you, control. Goodbye.
As the plane soared into the sky, Fu Mingyu glanced toward the cockpit door, imagining Ruan Sixian at that moment, wearing her headset and communicating with air traffic control.
The image overlapped with one from his memory—her head held high, her gaze clear and resolute—a sight he would never forget.
He twisted the ring on his ring finger, his eyes gleaming softly.
To Ruan Sixian, this ring symbolized a home. To him, it meant that every day from now on, he would stand in the light, spear in hand, safeguarding her journey.
Half an hour later, the cabin lights brightened, and the flight attendants left their seats, beginning their duties.
Some passengers played on their iPads, others dozed off, and a few, feeling the call of nature, unbuckled their seatbelts and headed for the restroom.
Suddenly, a voice came over the intercom.
“Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. I am Captain Ruan Sixian of this flight. On behalf of the entire crew, I welcome you aboard Hengshi Airlines Flight 5286, bound for Yuanhu Island. The estimated flight time is three hours and forty minutes. The weather along the route is cloudy, and we expect some turbulence during the flight. Please do not worry and remain seated with your seatbelts fastened.”For most passengers, it was the first time they heard a female voice making the cabin announcement—clear and crisp, like the sound of jade.
They looked up one after another, their attention unconsciously drawn to the announcement.
"Today marks my first flight as a captain, and I am honored to spend this journey with all of you."
"I am also very grateful to everyone, especially Mr. Fu in seat A01, for accompanying me in witnessing this important milestone in my life."
Only after the announcement ended did some passengers in the cabin begin to discuss it belatedly.
"Ruan Sixian? Is that the Ruan Sixian?"
"Obviously, how many Ruan Sixians could there be at World Airlines?"
"Wow, we're on Ruan Sixian's flight today?"
"I always thought she was already a captain, so today is actually her first flight as one?"
"What are you talking about? Last year's news clearly stated she was a co-pilot!"
"Oh my god, what incredible luck! I'm going to post about this on Weibo after we land!"
Amid the surrounding chatter, the girl who had just asked Fu Mingyu for his WeChat belatedly realized why he looked so familiar.
Wasn't he the World Airlines director who had once trended on social media because of Li Zhihuai?
Wasn't he the boyfriend of that female pilot who made an emergency landing?
The girl glanced toward the cockpit, her heart nearly skipping a beat.
His wife was right there, and she had actually gone to ask him for his WeChat. What an incredibly awkward twist of fate.
Three hours and ten minutes later, the plane landed on time at Yuanhu Island Airport.
Some passengers lingered near the crew bus after disembarking, waiting for Ruan Sixian. As soon as she emerged, they crowded around her for photos.
Surrounded by the crowd, Ruan Sixian glanced back at Fu Mingyu and tilted her chin up.
Her expression was utterly smug.
Fu Mingyu stood alone to the side, waiting and waiting. Apart from a flight attendant who brought him a bottle of mineral water from the plane, no one paid him any attention.
It wasn't until the temperature rose and ground staff came to disperse the crowd that Ruan Sixian finally managed to break free.
Fu Mingyu walked over and pulled her into an embrace.
"Captain Ruan has landed safely."
"Ugh, everyone kept asking for photos. I should've worn foundation today."
In the restaurant, Ruan Sixian fixed her hair while looking at her phone. "I wonder if the photos turned out well. I didn't even have the chance to check them properly."
Fu Mingyu glanced at her, scooped a bowl of soup for her, and said, "Could you eat first?"
"Oh, just a moment."
Although she responded, Ruan Sixian acted as if she hadn't heard him and continued fiddling with her phone.
"This one is so blurry, and they still posted it!"
Searching her own name, Ruan Sixian found many real-time Weibo posts, which annoyed her greatly. "Couldn't they have taken a few more shots to choose from? It's not like I charge for photos!"
"Captain Ruan," Fu Mingyu pushed the bowl closer to her and emphasized again, "Eat."
"Got it."
Ruan Sixian slowly put down her phone, picked up her chopsticks, took a bite of food, and couldn't help but glance around.
Yuanhu Island wasn't actually an island anymore—it had long been naturally filled in and turned into flatland through the passage of time.
The restaurant was located in the center of Yuanhu Island, built outdoors with a view of the endless wetlands.
Seeing her looking around but barely touching the food in her bowl, Fu Mingyu put down his chopsticks, crossed his arms, and looked at her.
"Are you hinting at something?"
"Huh? What?"
"Is eating really that difficult? Do you want me to feed you?"
"..."Ruan Sixian picked up her chopsticks again. "How come you never get rid of this narcissistic habit? I'm just a little excited, that's all."
After the meal, the two walked to the open grassland on Yuanhu Island.
"You're quite familiar with this place," Ruan Sixian remarked, following Fu Mingyu without even using navigation. "Have you been here before?"
"Yes," Fu Mingyu replied, settling onto a bench. "I came here a few years ago to watch a meteor shower. It's an excellent spot for observing them."
Ruan Sixian had been sitting calmly on the bench, but upon hearing this, she leaned over and looked him up and down. Suddenly, she tilted her head back and grinned for a long moment.
Fu Mingyu couldn't quite follow the new captain's train of thought. "What are you laughing at?"
"The thought of you lying on this grass with a lovesick, girlish expression just makes me laugh."
Fu "the Girl" frowned helplessly. "I don't think the sight of hundreds of thousands of meteors bursting across the sky is all that girlish."
"Hundreds of thousands..."
Ruan Sixian's laughter faded into a faint smile at the corners of her mouth as she looked up at the sky. "So you're actually quite a romantic person, huh? Jumping off waterfalls, traveling all the way out here just to watch cosmic dust."
Fu Mingyu draped an arm over Ruan Sixian's shoulder, then suddenly thought of something and turned to look at her. "Have you ever seen a meteor shower?"
Ruan Sixian fiddled with her fingers absentmindedly. "I've only ever seen thunderstorms."
"This year on October 22nd, the Orionid Meteor Shower will align with Halley's Comet's orbit. You can see it from here. Want to come?"
"J-just October?" Ruan Sixian tried to keep her expression calm, but her eyes seemed already filled with shooting stars. "Well, if I have time, I'll come."
Fu Mingyu said okay.
As if she wouldn't have time—it was all up to him anyway.
Their return flight was at seven in the evening, so Ruan Sixian and Fu Mingyu set off for the airport at four-thirty.
As they were leaving, Ruan Sixian glanced back at the sky and suddenly said, "How about we take our wedding photos here on that day?"
He didn't know that ever since he mentioned "hundreds of thousands of meteors," that image had filled Ruan Sixian's mind, lingering there ever since.
"Hmm?" Fu Mingyu was amused by her sudden idea.
They had been discussing where to take their wedding photos for months. Ruan Sixian had wavered between Greece, North Africa, and Switzerland, changing her mind repeatedly without settling on anything.
"Not somewhere farther away?"
"Let's do it here," Ruan Sixian said, gazing dreamily out the window. "Having a meteor shower as the backdrop would be a rare and precious opportunity."
Fu Mingyu nodded. "Okay."
Once they decided to take their wedding photos domestically, everything became much simpler.
Only the wedding dress was a bit tight on time.
The originally scheduled completion date in November was moved up because of the upcoming meteor shower.
On October 20th, He Lanxiang personally brought it back from Paris.
The wedding dress didn't have an overly wide skirt that needed to be dragged along.
Its brilliance lay in the tailoring that complemented the wearer's curves, and the most ingenious part was that, while appearing entirely snow-white at first glance, special threads subtly shimmered with low-saturation golden light, flowing and sparkling even in the dark, dazzling and radiant.
When she saw the finished product, Ruan Sixian felt nothing but infinite awe. This one-of-a-kind wedding dress in the world, this dress that belongs only to her—if it had a backdrop of a meteor shower, everything would be perfect.
On October 21st, Ruan Sixian had taken four days off but was far from idle.
She had originally planned to go to Yuanhu Island early with Fu Mingyu to settle in, but He Lanxiang insisted that Fu Mingyu go alone. She wanted to take Ruan Sixian to various beauty institutions, running around from head to toe, not even sparing a single strand of hair, striving for the most perfect appearance in front of the camera.
Ruan Sixian thought it made sense.
After all, Zheng You’an had volunteered to be the photographer this time. She would never forget the fear of being dominated by Zheng You’an and was determined not to give her the slightest flaw to exploit.
Naturally, Fu Mingyu couldn’t get involved in beauty treatments, and as it happened, he had business in the city neighboring Yuanhu Island that day.
Both sides went their separate ways, busy until the afternoon of the 21st. Everything was ready, waiting for nature to gift them a meteor shower the next day.
However, that very afternoon, Ruan Sixian received a call from Fu Mingyu and learned news that could hardly be called anything but bad.
This year’s Orionid meteor shower had arrived earlier than expected—it was coming tonight!
Ruan Sixian nearly jumped off the sofa.
This was even more unreasonable than a period—it just came without warning!
At times like this, the benefits of having connections came into play. With a single call from Fu Mingyu, the marketing department immediately arranged the earliest flight for Ruan Sixian, Zheng You’an, and her assistant.
But due to the urgency, there were no dual-class seats available—only economy class.
Ruan Sixian didn’t mind and hurried to the airport with her precious wedding dress and Zheng You’an.
“Ugh, how can anyone sit in this seat?”
Zheng You’an squeezed into the narrow seat, finding fault with everything. “I can’t even stretch my legs, and the backrest won’t recline for sleeping. How am I supposed to survive over three hours? No, no, I’ll probably be useless by the time we land.”
An elderly man nearby overheard Zheng You’an’s complaints and snorted, muttering sarcastically, “If you want to sit, sit. If not, forget it. So many demands—do you think the plane is your own?”
Ruan Sixian: “...”
Zheng You’an: “...”
The two airline owners’ wives immediately fell silent.
However, the flight originally scheduled to depart at six o’clock still showed no signs of moving by seven-fifteen.
Delayed takeoffs weren’t uncommon—Ruan Sixian had experienced many herself, for various reasons—but she had never felt as anxious as she did today.
The long-awaited meteor shower was a rare opportunity. If they missed it, who knew when the next one would come?
She checked her wristwatch several times. Time ticked by, but there was still no news of takeoff.
Zheng You’an yawned beside her, and the entire cabin grew restless.
“Maybe we should just forget it,” she said lazily. “Let’s reschedule or change locations. We can fly first class and go comfortably.”
As she spoke, she grew more enthusiastic. “Let’s go, let’s go home right now.”
“No!”
Ruan Sixian held her back. “You’re not going anywhere!”
Just then, Ni Tong passed through the economy class aisle and brought water for the two of them.
“Just wait a little longer,” she whispered, leaning close to Ruan Sixian’s ear. “There’s thunder and rain along the route. Departures from Shilan are now spaced 20 minutes apart. We’ll likely be delayed for at least four hours today.”
Upon hearing this, Zheng You’an immediately stood up."Let's go home, we definitely won't make it today."
Ruan Sixian sighed, sat silently in her seat for a few seconds, then slowly stood up.
When it came to thunderstorms, she held no expectations for miracles. With no other flights to Yuanhu Island available, even a private jet wouldn't get them there in time today—it was hopeless.
Ni Tong went to request clearance for the two of them from the crew. Just then, Fu Mingyu called.
"Still haven't taken off?"
"No," Ruan Sixian replied gloomily. "Thunderstorms along the route—it'll be at least four hours before we can fly. We won't make it for today's meteor shower."
"Hmm, it's alright."
On the other end of the line, Fu Mingyu said, "There will be plenty of chances to see meteor showers. I can take you anywhere in the world where one is happening."
Ruan Sixian paused for a moment, finding no comfort in his words.
She had been waiting for this meteor shower for three months, looking forward to it every day. The sudden disappointment was hard to bear.
In the past, she would have let it go—she was used to dashed hopes.
But at some point, being with Fu Mingyu had changed that. She had grown accustomed to getting what she wanted when she was with him, and now even something like this felt difficult to accept.
"We agreed to take wedding photos today," she said, her voice low. "I've waited three months to see this meteor shower."
To see the meteor shower with you.
Fu Mingyu thought for a moment, then suddenly said, "Wait a second."
"Hmm?"
After saying this, Fu Mingyu hung up. Ruan Sixian stared at her phone screen, unsure what to do next.
"Let's go," Zheng You'an said, patting her stomach as she started thinking about where to have dinner. "I'm hungry. Let's grab something to eat and then head home."
A few minutes later, Ni Tong returned and whispered, "You two can disembark now."
Zheng You'an stood up contentedly, stretching her arms before looking down and saying, "Let's go."
Just then, Fu Mingyu called again.
He got straight to the point: "The coastal route is clear, no flow control."
Ruan Sixian didn't understand. "Hmm?"
Fu Mingyu added, "The captain of your current flight is a foreign pilot."
Ruan Sixian: "Hmm?"
Hmm??
Hmm???
She blinked suddenly, as if realizing something.
On the other end of the line, Fu Mingyu chuckled softly. "Captain Ruan, I've prepared the meteor shower viewing base on Yuanhu Island for you. Are you coming?"
Ruan Sixian's gaze inadvertently traveled through the cabin, straight to the cockpit door.
Two seconds later.
"Wait for me!"
She hung up, unfastened her seatbelt, and stood up, looking at Ni Tong.
"Who's the co-pilot today?"
Ni Tong: "Chen Ming, why?"
Ruan Sixian: "Is the captain in the cockpit?"
Ni Tong: "C-Captain Anderson? He's at dispatch right now."
Ruan Sixian: "Confirmed that the route is blocked due to thunderstorms and can't take off?"
Ni Tong: "Yeah."
Ruan Sixian's eyes darted around, her thoughts aligning perfectly with Fu Mingyu's.
Flight routes are divided into domestic and international. Flights with foreign pilots can only operate on international routes, while flights without foreign pilots can operate on all routes.
Today, the route affected by thunderstorms was an international one, making it impossible to take off.
But the other route was clear. Although the foreign captain couldn't fly it, she could.
And as luck would have it, her flight hours and rest periods today met all the requirements for flying.Ruan Sixian suddenly let out a long sigh, stepped into the aisle, grabbed a hair tie from her bag, and said to Ni Tong while tying her hair, "Call the flight department to send over the flight assignment form, and have the director's office deliver my license and documents."
Ni Tong & Zheng You'an: "Huh?"
Her hair tied back, Ruan Sixian adjusted her ponytail and walked toward the cockpit.
"I'm taking over this aircraft now."
Ni Tong and Zheng You'an stared in stunned silence, and as the passengers grasped the situation, the cabin erupted into an uproar—
A few phone calls later, in less than fifteen minutes, the flight mission documents, licenses, and certificates were all delivered into Ruan Sixian's hands.
Before takeoff, Ruan Sixian made a call to Fu Mingyu.
Fu Mingyu: "Have you taken off yet?"
"Almost." She glanced at the instrument panel, a smile playing on her lips. "Husband, wait for me."
"Mhm." Fu Mingyu watched the sunset gradually fading from the sky. "I'll wait for you at the airport."
After hanging up, the co-pilot beside her was still dazed, unable to comprehend how his captain had suddenly been replaced.
"Captain... Captain Ruan..."
"Prepare for pushback." Ruan Sixian activated her headset. "We're running out of time."
Ten minutes later, the aircraft disconnected from ground power and began its pushback.
Ruan Sixian: "80 knots."
Co-pilot: "80 knots checked."
Ruan Sixian: "V1."
Co-pilot: "V1 checked."
Ruan Sixian: "V2."
Co-pilot: "V2 checked."
Ruan Sixian: "VR."
Co-pilot: "VR reached."
Ruan Sixian: "Rotate, takeoff."
Co-pilot: "Gear up."
As the aircraft lifted into the air, Ruan Sixian pressed her headset. "HS5536 is airborne. Thank you for your guidance, goodbye."
Over the headset, the air traffic controller paused, finally realizing that the aircraft had indeed taken off.
"Good... goodbye."
Ruan Sixian looked up at the clouds on the horizon.
In the limited time she had left in her life, she didn't want to leave behind a single regret—
Meanwhile, Captain Anderson, who had rushed to the apron, found himself staring at an empty space.
Huh?
Huh??
Huh???
Where's my plane???
That big, huge plane that was parked right over there???—
The aircraft pierced through the clouds, flying toward Yuanhu Island under the glow of the setting sun.
Standing before the spacious cockpit window, Ruan Sixian watched as the sun slowly hid behind the clouds, its light fading at the edge of the sky.
The sky grew completely dark, and the moon peeked out, passing by her side.
The runway lights of Yuanhu Island Airport were already faintly visible.
Ruan Sixian gazed at the airport ahead, her fingers lightly tapping on the instrument panel.
Though she was still thousands of meters above the ground, she could almost see Fu Mingyu waiting for her there.
The numbers on the altimeter steadily decreased with each jump.
Her heart was filled with anticipation—for this flight, she was eagerly looking forward to landing.
Since he had come into her life, it seemed there was always something to look forward to, something to dream about.
And every expectation, big or small, would find its fulfillment, every dream would become reality.
Half an hour later, the aircraft came to a steady stop on the apron of Yuanhu Island Airport.
Passengers disembarked one after another, while Ruan Sixian remained seated in the cockpit, gazing at the night sky ahead.
The night was thick and dark, like a curtain, seemingly eager to welcome the meteor shower that would arrive that evening.
And now, she couldn't wait to put on her wedding dress and show it to him.
After the entire cabin fell silent, Ruan Sixian took a deep breath and rose from her seat, leaving the cockpit.
Fu Mingyu stood beside the wing, glancing up several times. The cockpit was empty, yet she hadn't appeared at the aircraft door either.
After the last passenger stepped onto the shuttle bus, the door closed, and the vehicle slowly drove away.
Fu Mingyu strode toward the boarding stairs.
Just as he set foot on the first step, the crew gathered at the aircraft door suddenly erupted in excitement.Fu Mingyu paused in his steps and looked up.
Ruan Sixian appeared at the cabin door, holding up the hem of her dress.
She ran toward him, her wedding gown fluttering and shimmering under the runway lights.
The light in Fu Mingyu’s eyes gathered, his slightly stunned expression gradually fading into a knowing smile.
He opened his arms, and as a wave of fragrance swept over him, Ruan Sixian threw herself into his embrace.
As he had done every time she landed before, Fu Mingyu held her and gently patted her back.
But today, he didn’t call her Captain.
“Mrs. Fu,” he whispered, “you’ve landed safely.”
“Mm.”
Ruan Sixian nodded emphatically and lifted her eyes. The long-awaited meteor shower seemed to have arrived, vast and magnificent, filling the night sky with dazzling brilliance.
She held Fu Mingyu tightly, her heart landing steadily.
My life—
I lost my mother in childhood, my father in youth.
Stumbling through my blooming years, I grew up alone, finding my way by myself.
The sky had no harbor, no lighthouse in the clouds. At ten thousand meters high, I thought flying against the wind was the only way forward.
But fortunately, fortunately.
Finally, in your heart, I have landed safely—
End of Main Story—
Author’s Note: Sorry for being late again. I originally planned to split this into two days, but I lost track of time while writing and ended up finishing it all at once.
With this, the main story is complete. Thank you all for your companionship and patience over these past two months. I’d like to take a break tomorrow and will update with an extra chapter the day after tomorrow, on Thursday evening. Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments about what you’d like to see.
Also, a little aside.
When I started writing this story, I was in a relaxed state of mind. But in September, my grandfather was suddenly hospitalized, and from that day on, the place I visited most was the hospital. Just as he was getting better, another elderly family member passed away unexpectedly.
Over these past two months, I’ve eaten many meals at hospital cafeterias, often woken up by phone calls in the early hours of the morning. One day, after finishing an update at 5 a.m., I slept for less than an hour before my mother woke me with the tragic news. I rushed to the other side of the family, kept vigil, attended the funeral, and barely slept. With other family matters piling up, I broke down in tears several times. Apart from my grandfather and parents, I hardly saw anyone else. These two months have truly been the most difficult period for me in recent years. You may not have known, but it was your company that carried me through.
